The Department of Mathematical Sciences at Montana Tech is pleased to announce an opening for a tenure-track Instructor in Statistics and Mathematics. Montana Technological University, a regionally accredited college in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, primarily offers degrees in the sciences and engineering. The Mathematical Sciences Department offers undergraduate majors in Mathematics (with options in applied mathematics and statistics) and Data Science. The primary duties are to teach introductory courses in both statistics and mathematics, with a normal teaching load of 12 credits per semester. In addition, this position will be responsible for administering summer bridge programs in mathematics for incoming students. Additional responsibilities could include, but are not limited to, curriculum design, coordination of service courses, and/or student success efforts. • Ability to teach a wide range of undergraduate mathematics and statistics courses
• Evidence of effective teaching
• Previous experience with corequisite remediation, summer bridge programs, or other similar student success efforts
