Conservatory Lab Charter School seeks individuals who are passionate about supporting students to meet their full potential. The ideal candidate will have experience analyzing student needs, designing c hands-on experiences to support student learning, supporting implementation of students' accommodations and modifying grade level work. The learning specialist will help discern how to provide access to grade level standards with supportive learning experiences while building foundational skills.The learning specialist should have experience supporting both academic and social emotional supports. The learning specialist will provide direct service to students, as well as partner with academic and music teachers to support student learning. In addition, the learning specialist should have experience with research based interventions, including a rules based reading program. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Partner with lead teacher to support optimal learning environment for students Co-plan lessons with academic teachers to support student learning Provide push-in and pull-out support as designated by students' IEPsWrite IEP goals matched to student needs Write IEP all reports related to student progress on their IEPAttend all IEP meetings in accordance with assigned students Provide service delivery for students including RTI support for at risk students Develop individualized behavior plans to support self-regulation goals Consult with academic and music teacher to design and support implementation of students' accommodations Enforce school and class rules and routines to help students maintain scholarly behavior Lead small group and individual instruction using identified scientific, research based interventions focused specifically on individual student difficulties Maintain records of interventions and progress monitoring to insure fidelity of implementation Assist the lead teacher in maintaining two way communication with families, including attending team/parent meetings as required Assist with universal screening of students Assist with all testing accommodations Utilize tracking systems to maintain lists of students participating in interventions Supervise student groups as assigned by the schedule Utilize feedback to reflect on skills and improve performance to improve supports for students Perform related duties as requested to support a safe learning environment Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Principal Qualifications: Special Education license Experience working in an urban environment Reading license (preferred) Bilingual - Spanish, Cape Verdean Creole, Haitian CreoleAbility to work closely and collaborate on a professional team Ability to maintain confidentiality Strong oral communication skills Flexible and able to work in a fast paced environment Salary commensurate with experience.

Evaluate students through a variety of functional, behavioral, and standardized assessments, skilled observation, checklists, histories, and interviews. Synthesize evaluation results into a comprehensive written report which reflects strengths and barriers to student participation in the educational environment. Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to review evaluation results, integrate findings with other disciplines, offer recommendations, and develop individual education plans and intervention plans to achieve IEP goals. Provides targeted, evidence-based therapeutic intervention to facilitate student participation and occupational performance within the school environment. Collect data for decision making and progress monitoring. Schedule direct services using a variety of service delivery models, including classroom intervention, consultation/collaboration and pull-out sessions as appropriate to meet student needs in the least restrictive environment. Maintain easily accessible and accurate student files. Safeguard confidentiality of student records. Complete logging of services for third party reimbursement accurately and in a timely manner. The ABA paraprofessional will reinforce the treatment plan created by the BCBA monitoring the student's behavior, reporting to the BCBA on the implementation of the treatment plan and progress toward objectives or performance goals. Must be physically capable of and willing to run, stand, sit, stoop, crawl, kneel, reach, twist, push, sit on the floor to complete activities and lift a child weighing more than 50 pounds as required to meet unique student needs. Major Responsibilities: Assist with and follow a variety of tasks pertaining to assigned student Carry out classroom schedule and routines Prepare materials and lessons with the classroom teacher Make copies of homework, parent notices, resources Assist in helping students complete assignments Directly implements skill- acquisition and behavior-reduction plans developed by the BCBA Monitor the student's progress on implementation of the goals of the treatment plan developed by the BCBA Attend to behavioral and medical needs Work closely with BCBA to ensure the treatment plan and risk management/safety plan is implemented as developed Implement school and district policies and procedures Arrive on time prepared to work Communicate with classroom teacher with regards to student's social, emotional, physical and academic needs Maintain confidentiality Develop and maintain helpful, supportive, respectful, and nurturing relationships with student and family Assist in the maintaining a safe, healthy, secure, exciting, and developmentally appropriate classroom Incorporate and pursue special interests and talents of student Morning Duty: Includes active supervision of hallways and classrooms. Afternoon Duty: Includes active supervision of the dismissal process. Additional duties may be assigned without additional compensation or stipend Qualifications: Required 48 college credits hours or Associate degree or Passing score on ParaPro test (Minimum requirement for meeting highly qualified status) Must have ABA background Strong background in communication and interpersonal skills Preferred Bachelor's Degree Assist in toileting and Activity of Daily Living (ADL) skills as determined by student need
