Overview
Our Invoice Analysts work with utility providers to identify and possibly correct balance forward issues, miscellaneous charges, and billing errors. In addition, they are responsible for calling utility providers to request extensions, request missing bills and corrected bills, as well as working through payment issues. Research and maintain the balance forward exception reports to pay client utility bills timely to avoid late fees

The Utility Bill Exceptions Specialist is a vital analytical role, serving as the last line of defense against costly billing errors for our clients. You will be trained as a Utility Expert to identify and investigate abnormalities in meter reads, tariffs, and other billing information. Core Responsibilities
As an Exceptions Specialist, you will:
Research and Resolve: Conduct in-depth analysis to research, identify, and resolve complex anomalies and discrepancies in utility provider bills.
Data Deciphering: Learn to quickly decipher utility data to determine when meter reads or charges are inaccurate or out of the ordinary.
Issue Resolution: Determine and execute the best course of action to resolve billing issues, contacting the necessary parties (providers and clients).
Process Improvement: Detect and analyze inefficient internal processes and propose innovative solutions to streamline our billing audit system.
Communication: Maintain professional communication with utility providers and clients via email and phone.
Phone Usage: Handle medium phone volume (approximately 25-50% of your day) for outbound calls to providers and clients.

Primary Purpose of Position
