Job Description
The Quality Engineer plays a key role in ensuring that ConMet's products meet the highest standard of quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction. This role coordinates all quality assurance activities related to product quality, including auditing, inspection, problem-solving, customer communication, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Quality Engineer supports both new product launches and ongoing production by driving robust processes and maintaining compliance with customer and internal requirements.
This position will be based at ConMet's plastics assembly plant in either Chillicothe, Ohio or Canton, North Carolina. This is a first shift opening.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Coordinate directly with customers and manage the assigned customer deck, providing cradle-to-grave ownership of quality activities.
• Perform product and process audits; provide audit direction, monitoring, reporting, and problem-solving support across all functions.
• Establish and maintain part quality standards by collaborating with customer and new product teams. Create boundary samples, visual aids, and supporting documentation for part acceptability.
• Support program launches and APQP deliverables to ensure readiness, capability, and compliance.
• Lead or participate in root-cause analysis and corrective action development (8D, fishbone, 5-Why, etc.)
• Develop, recommend, and implement quality improvements and process changes.
• Manage Safe Launch activities, including preparation and distribution of daily Safe Launch/Hold reports to management.
• Participate in customer and internal audits; assist in follow-up actions and documentation.
• Support inspection activities, measurement system analysis (MSA), capability studies, and other quality tools as required.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Quality, or related technical field or equivalent experience.
• Prior quality engineering, manufacturing quality, or auditing experience.
• Working knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, and Core Tools.
• Experience with problem-solving methodologies and corrective action processes.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interface professionally with customers.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and measurement data.
• Knowledge of IATF 16949 requirements

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:
As part of the rotary die cutter machine crew, rotates responsibilities between stacking, packing and palletizing finished product and feeding raw material into machine. Responsible for safely performing the responsibilities of the job and ensuring quality products are manufactured at a consistent rate of speed, in accordance with machine standards, while achieving daily production goals.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITY:
Reviews job ticket instructions and verifies palletizing information to verify box count, skid count, labeling information, and all other customer specifications.
Safely sets up and starts up the shrink tunnel machine and conveyor system and maintain machine centers per machine standards.
Receives finished product from shrink wrap tunnel and ensures that product is securely sealed; will assist other packing lines in other departments with stacking and palletizing as needed.
Labels each case appropriately and stacks off on skid per job ticket instructions.
Upon completion of stacking the entire skid, prints finished goods load tags, verifies correct information, and adheres tag to the completed job to prepare for shipment.
Rotates the packing and stacking duties on a daily basis with the feeding responsibilities of the Assistant Operator, as directed by Supervisor.
Upon successful set up and startup of machine, and as directed by Supervisor, performs a daily rotation with Assistant Operator to perform the feeding job duties of the machine; responsible for inspecting raw material for defects, gathering and feeding raw materials into rotary die cutter machine and print units, and safely and consistently maintaining product flow to maximize efficiencies and achieve daily production goals.
Actively performs all SCT Quality procedures and standards including required quality checks and sample pulls ensuring customer specifications and quality standards are consistently met; actively works with the crew to ensure quality of the product meets all standards and customer specifications.
Records productivity and information about the job within the manufacturing computer system, accurately completes production reports and records production data including start and stop times for all crew members, count of finished goods produced, and raw material used.
Reports all issues with equipment, dies, or raw material to supervisor or maintenance department.
Troubleshoots, diagnoses, and assists in repair of machine malfunctions; performs routine cleaning, and maintenance.
Follows all safety related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions, and guidelines; uses situational awareness and actively looks for weak signals to identify unsafe behaviors and conditions; consistently wears appropriate PPE for the task at hand and within the assigned area; immediately notifies Supervisor of any unsafe condition that exists.
Communicates effectively with other team members throughout the shift and at shift change to share critical information necessary to perform the job safely and efficiently; collaborates regularly with Quality team to obtain necessary approvals and to ensure quality standards are consistently met.
Performs routine cleaning and assists with preventative maintenance (PM) duties of machine ensuring all PM's are completed on time as established in the PM schedule.
Actively seeks and adopts new updates and improvements to processes, new procedures, and innovations, which would add to the efficiency and safety of the operation.
Maintains a clean work environment in accordance with Food Safety and 5S program.
Assists other departments or positions with duties as assigned.

Position Summary:
This role focuses on representing and selling Bendix product lines within a defined commercial vehicle territory, requiring technical knowledge, strategic customer management, and significant travel. It involves promoting products to fleets, dealers, and distributors while maintaining customer relationships and internal reporting. This role is also responsible for maintaining the CRM/C4C, meeting assigned internal tasks on a timely basis and supporting Bendix industry activities as assigned.
Essential Functions:
Responsible and accountable for all strategic customer activity in a defined territory; Fleets with 250-750 power units, all dealership activity for both parts and fleet spec that relates 250-750 power units, Bendix distributor network with key focus on aftermarket parts sales.
Assist in identifying and managing strategic relationships at 35-50 fleets to pull through fleet spec and aftermarket business.
Achieve key performance objectives within the appropriate timeframe as outlined on personal performance targets and the overall organization's sales targets.
Requires 60-70% travel to customer locations, regional meetings and industry events.
Lead sales calls at distributor, dealer, and fleet customer level to promote/sell Bendix & affiliates product lines.
Assist in promotions with Bendix distributors and dealers to help promote/sell our product lines to the fleet customer.
Consistently call on fleet customers promoting Bendix quality & brand equity.
Generate interest with fleet customers to purchase and specify Bendix products and systems.
Continually review current distribution and opportunities.
Create business plans with distributor and dealers annually to target specific areas of growth.
Assist and execute internal business to drive growth initiatives.
Provide product sales & technical training at distributor, dealer and fleet customer.
Responsible to update all customers reporting requirements in management tool (CRM)
Knowledge:
General knowledge of heavy truck industry, Fleet, OEMs, dealerships, suppliers, distribution channels and trade associations.
Possesses comprehensive knowledge of organizational sales policies and procedures.
Working knowledge of Bendix products and their functionality is a plus.
Basic knowledge of Bendix's customer base, their business and how they operate a plus.
Knowledge of a customer reporting management tool a plus
Experience:
A minimum of 2-3 years sales experience within the heavy-duty/automotive industry experience required.
ASE Certified desired but not required
Skills:
High technical aptitude and business acumen in the commercial vehicle industry.

Travel Requirements:
Individual must be domiciled in the defined territory and must be located within one hour of major airport.
Must be capable of traveling 60-70% of the time to fleets, dealerships, distributors, Bendix HQ's and trade associations

The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in California or Remotely is $89,900-$134,900 per year. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:
Safely and efficiently handles and packs finished goods into shipping boxes per customer specifications to ensure quality products are produced at a consistent rate of speed and in accordance with machine standards and production goals.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITY:
Reviews and follows job ticket instructions for each production run to determine the size, quantity, stack pattern and labeling instructions required to pack and/or shrink wrap before shipment.
Assembles corrugated shipping cases and places on conveyor at a consistent rate of speed to adequately supply packing line with the cases needed.
Safely and efficiently handles and packs converted material into shipping cases, picks up finished goods from conveyor, fills and stacks case uniformly ensuring proper count, stack pattern and fit.
Ensures efficient and proper sealing as case moves through tape machine; maintains tape machine and reports any issues to supervisor and submit work orders to the maintenance department as needed.
Safely and securely stacks cases on pallet and ensures proper tags are securely fastened to completed pallets.
Regularly rotates through different responsibilities and on different packing lines as instructed by Supervisor or Lead; assists with packing, stacking and/or feeding product through other converting machines or shrink wrap machines as assigned.
Maintains quality standards by understanding defective characteristics of products, sorting defective parts, and communicating with Supervisor, Lead, or Quality Manager when quality issues arise.
Consistently performs required quality checks for fulfillment prior to and throughout production runs correcting issues when identified.
Ensures that finished products with defects are properly scrapped and discarded while consistently following procedures to minimize waste.
Follows all safety related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions, and guidelines; uses situational awareness and actively looks for weak signals to identify unsafe behaviors and conditions; advises Supervisor or Lead immediately of any information regarding the safety of the machine or machine crew.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:
The Class A Maintenance Technician will serve the production areas of the business with skilled mechanical support for all areas of production including the installation, maintenance and repair of machinery, equipment, piping, and minor electrical and electronic systems. Class A Technicians are focused on enabling and equipping the plant to operate efficiently, while minimizing downtime, and protecting and prolonging the economic life of plant equipment and capital assets at an optimal and practical cost.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for applying mechanical skills, knowledge and principles in a safe manner while determining equipment malfunctions and restoring equipment to operation with minimal disruption to operations.
Serves as a primary interface with Plant Supervisors and Operators in the assessment, identification and repair of developing or non-scheduled issues with equipment and systems; communicates daily with machine operators to ensure adequate support is provided.
Visually inspects for visible wear and defects and listens to machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctions to include testing of machinery and equipment; troubleshoots issues with operators and/or Supervisors to diagnose problem and identify a solution to repair the machine.
Performs proper scheduling of work to maximize task completion with minimal plant disruption, reduction in unscheduled downtime, while lowering costs and creating higher plant efficiency.
Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment
Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
Sets up and operates various machinery, equipment and tools such as forklift, manlift, boom, platform lift, table saw, router, bandsaw, drill press, circular saw, hand drill, hammer drill, grinder, ox-acetylene set, welding equipment, cutting torch, etc. while following all safety procedures in order to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, fixtures and/or tools
Fabricates and repairs general structural repairs, including some carpentry projects as needed.

Maintains upkeep and organization of all equipment and tools assigned to the department and submits requests of any additional tools or equipment that would add to the efficiency and safety of the operation.

Follows all safety related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions, and guidelines. Use situational awareness and identify unsafe behaviors and conditions; wears appropriate PPE at all times for the task at hand and the area.
AUTHORITY:
Must have the ability to lead a crew that has been placed with them to execute the demands of the maintenance operation efficiently and to respond to oral instructions from the supervisor and written instructions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school, minimum 3+ years of related experience in a manufacturing environment; must have strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills; experience with repairing major manufacturing or industrial equipment required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Must have the ability to read and understand documents, letters, etc. and write legibly in English.
Must be able to understand and speak clearly, communicate, and understand directions in English as needed. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Able to calculate figures, amounts such as proportions, area, circumference, and volume. Apply the concepts of basic algebra and geometry
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must become a Certified Fork Lift operator in accordance with SCT training and carry a copy of your certification with you.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, regularly required to walk, stand, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with arms and hands. Frequently is required to climb, balance, twist, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Frequently lifts/moves 25 to 50 pounds. Must be able to perform these functions for a minimum of 8 hours straight (with a 30-minute meal break any other applicable breaks during the shift) on a regular basis. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. SUPPLY CHAIN - PURCHASING CO-OP Co-op opportunity for a student majoring in Supply Chain Management, Materials, Operations, or Purchasing. A co-op in this position will work within the Integrated Supply Chain group.
Job Responsibilities:
• Prepare and manage Requests for Quotation (RFQ) process
• Analyze quotations - assist in obtaining capital appropriations and issuing purchase orders
• Maintain monthly and annual metrics
• Assist Supply Chain manager and buyers in day-to-day projects and responsibilities
• Participate in supplier and cross-functional team meetings
• Participate in manufacturing reviews as well as monthly interplant meetings
• Assist in invoicing and payment issues
• Provide support on supplier transition projects and new product introductions, including identification of new suppliers
• Liaison for supply chain mangement on the product change process team

Summary:
We are seeking a MIG/TIG Welder specializing in steel and aluminum welding to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in welding both materials, with a focus on high-quality craftsmanship, precision, and safety. You will be responsible for reading blueprints, preparing welding surfaces, and executing welding tasks with attention to detail. Your expertise will contribute to the fabrication, maintenance, and repair of metal components and structures.
Duties:
Perform MIG and TIG welding on steel and aluminum, ensuring strong, clean, and accurate welds.
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine welding requirements.
Set up and operate welding machines and equipment, including pre-weld preparations like cleaning and cutting metal surfaces.
Inspect welded components to ensure they meet company and industry standards, identifying defects and making necessary adjustments.
Maintain equipment, tools, and the working environment, ensuring everything is in optimal working condition.
Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and according to specifications.
Adhere to safety protocols and standards, wearing the required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
Perform post-weld operations like grinding surfaces as needed.
Assist in troubleshooting and problem-solving related to welding processes or quality control issues.
May be assigned other duties by management within reason.
