JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director, Head of Quality - Burlington, this his dual-role position combines front-line leadership of Quality Control (QC) for fired ceramic cores used in investment casting of aircraft engines, with broader Quality Management System (QMS) engineering responsibilities. The individual will supervise and support QC operations at Cleveland site, while also driving QMS compliance, improvement, and effectiveness in line with aerospace and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will be a disciplined, structured leader who can hold teams accountable, coordinate QC consistency across sites, and implement continuous improvement initiatives that sustain operational excellence.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Lead and supervise QC operations at Cleveland sites, ensuring cohesive work prioritization, shift coverage, and consistent performance.
* Actively monitor workloads, balance resources across sites and shifts, and pitch in with QC tasks when necessary to maintain throughput and on-time inspection.
* Track, report, and act on QC metrics (yield, defect rates, rework, turnaround time).
* Set daily and weekly QC priorities aligned with shipment goals: attend planning meetings (T3), provide QC needs to Operations/Product Engineering, and communicate goals clearly to QC teams.
* Establish and maintain clear expectations for QC personnel, review performance regularly, and implement corrective actions as needed.
* Lead the continuous improvement of the Level 1 / Level 2 / Level 3 qualification program for QC technicians through structured training, periodic skill evaluations, and advancement opportunities.
* Ensure consistency of inspection methods, decision-making, and documentation across all QC personnel, sites, and shifts.
* Provide clear communication to production, engineering, and repair teams on inspection results, nonconformances, and process issues.
* Maintain and improve the Quality Management System to meet AS9100 and customer-specific requirements.
* Lead or support internal audits, customer audits, and regulatory audits.
* Support Engineering Change Management, New Product Development, and process validation from a QMS perspective.
* Provide QMS training and guidance to employees at all levels.
* Ability to travel as needed for business purposes.
QUALIFICATIONS
* Must be a U.S. Person as defined by U.S. export control laws (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee).
* Education: B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Aerospace Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
* Experience: 5+ years in aerospace, precision manufacturing, ceramics, or a regulated manufacturing environment. Supervisory experience in QC, inspection, or manufacturing required; multi-site leadership preferred.
* Technical Skills:
* Strong understanding of dimensional inspection, NDT, and precision measurement tools
* Proven ability with SOPs, work instructions, and inspection documentation
* Proficiency in GD&T and CAD; familiarity with PLM systems, ECOs, and design controls
* Strong data analysis skills for identifying trends, variations, and systemic issues
* Certifications: CQE, CQA, or similar preferred but not required.

Responsibilities:
This person has the duties of packaging, crating aircraft parts, and cleaning in the shipping area. In addition, this person will be entrusted with the duty to transport CTL material to and from local suppliers (Dayton, Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky) and other facilities as directed by the Shipping Manager.
Requirements:
• Packaging parts for shipment to customer and to outside vendors using accepted area packaging methods. (Foam in place, bubble wrap, etc…)
• Must be very accurate and good attention to detail.
• Will help in receiving and verifying incoming shipments (verifying items against packing slips)

JOB SUMMARY
As an Automation Engineer at CPP, you will be responsible for designing, programming, maintaining, and troubleshooting PLC control systems in an aerospace investment casting manufacturing environment. A strong background in ladder logic programming is required, and experience with robotics (specifically Fanuc and Kawasaki) and ignition programming is highly beneficial but not mandatory. The ideal candidate will contribute to the efficient operation, optimization, and continuous improvement of automated manufacturing systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance process efficiency, improve quality, and reduce costs, ensuring that CPP continues to meet the demanding standards of the aerospace market.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Design, develop, implement, and maintain automation systems to improve efficiency and consistency in the investment casting process.
* Program, configure, troubleshoot, and improve robotic systems, PLCs, and other automated equipment to ensure efficient and reliable operations.
* Diagnose and resolve issues related to PLC-controlled systems, sensors, motors, actuators, and other automated machinery.
* Identify and implement improvements to automation systems to enhance efficiency, reduce downtime, and optimize production processes. Work closely with production teams to implement upgrades and process enhancements.
* Collaborate with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to ensure seamless integration of automated systems.
* Develop and maintain documentation, including system designs, programming files, and operating procedures.
* Provide training and technical support to maintenance teams and operators on PLC programming, control system troubleshooting, and automation systems as needed.
* Stay current with advancements in automation technologies and apply innovative solutions to CPP processes.
* Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to resolve production challenges.
* Provides manufacturing engineering information by answering questions and requests.
* Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians.
* Responsible for adherence to all safety policies, practices and procedures.
* Robotics Support (Beneficial not required): Assist with the programming, integration, and troubleshooting of robotic systems (Fanuc and Kawasaki). Ensure seamless interaction between robots and PLC-controlled systems to optimize production.
* Ignition Programming (Beneficial not required): Support the development and troubleshooting of ignition systems used in casting operations. Provide programming expertise to maintain ignition systems.
* Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
* Education: Bachelor's degree in Automation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
* Experience: 3+ years of experience in automation engineering, preferably in investment casting or a similar manufacturing environment
* PLC Programming: Strong experience in PLC programming with an emphasis on ladder logic. Hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley or similar PLC platforms is required.
* Automation Systems Experience: Solid experience with automation systems, including sensors, actuators, motors, drives, and other equipment used in systems. Experience with SCADA systems and HMI programming.
* Problem-Solving Skills: Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues in automation systems, PLCs, and robotics.
* Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide training to operators and maintenance personnel.
* Safety Focus: Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in manufacturing environments, especially related to electrical systems and automation.
* Robotics Experience (Beneficial not required): Hands-on experience with Fanuc and Kawasaki robotic systems for integration, programming, and troubleshooting is highly beneficial.
* Ignition Programming (Beneficial not required): Knowledge or experience with ignition systems, programming, and troubleshooting within aerospace or manufacturing environments is a plus.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
* Working Environment: Shop floor, office.
* Physical Demands: Sitting or standing long periods of time, may be required to lift Metal castings up to 50 lbs; extended periods of time using a computer screen.
* Required PPE: PPE varies throughout the plant, check with area Supervisor to ensure proper PPE is being used.
* Travel Requirements: May be required to travel to other sites, as needed.
* Safety Glasses: Needed in all areas of the plant.
* Steel toe shoes: Needed in all areas of the plant.

Assembly & Disassembly of part molds without damaging them.
Part mold cleaning and preparation.
Read and understand manufacturing plans pertaining to Layup operations.
Obtain material kits from stockroom.
Apply materials to molds per manufacturing plans.
De-mold cured laminates from molds.
Bag parts for cure.

JOB SUMMARY
Engineering Co-ops will be assigned to New Product Development engineering or Production Engineering working cooperatively with manufacturing to develop robust processes and tooling to support the company's growth in the industrial and aerospace investment casting markets. Individuals identified as dimensional will focus primarily on dimensional control, the dies, fixtures, gages, and other tooling associated with the manufacture of investment castings.
Problem solving, and the concepts & tools of problem solving, are essential to the job. Engineers will be required to identify & define problems, perform root cause analysis, and implement solutions to problems that affect yield, rework, and overall quality of the product using a standardized approach (PDCA, Six-Sigma…). Occasionally taking a leadership role in resolving cross-functional problems. The candidate must be able to travel locally periodically to other CPP facilities, customers and vendors to provide problem-solving and technical support.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Develop, maintain, and teach "best practice" investment casting procedures and practices.
* Responsible for the construction of all dies (shrink factor analysis), gages, and support tooling needed to produce and inspect cores, wax patterns, and castings.
* Interface with tooling vendors and CPP purchasing to produce a quality tool/die at a competitive price.
* Identify and address process yields using various data analysis techniques (statistical, mathematical, DOE, 6 Sigma, etc.) to uncover variables in the process that are not maintained in a controlled fashion.
* Strong working knowledge of GD&T.
* Able to interpret customer drawings, specifications, models (CAD/NX), and layout reports.
* Good written and oral communication skills required to develop internal job instructions.
* Gage R&R, SPC, non-straightening processes and other cost reduction initiatives.
* Identify, evaluate and implement new process technologies that advance manufacturing and product capabilities.
* Communicate with tooling vendors to design concepts for wax pattern die rework, the build of gate dies and support fixtures.
* Document work procedures and processes.
* Work closely with other departments to ensure organization objectives are achieved.
* Improve Labor Utilization and Reduce Cost.
* Routinely audit production lots for adherence to established techniques and to ensure the repeatability of the results.
* Good verbal communications with all levels of management, manufacturing, and customer engineering groups.
QUALIFICATIONS
* Working on a BS in Engineering. Junior or Senior Year Preferred. Tooling, design, and CAD (preferably NX) experience Preferred.
* Strong communication skills (written and verbal), PC skills and program management skills.
* Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing Principles.
* Excellent organizational, interpersonal and documentation skills.
* Motivated individual with data driven problem solving techniques.
