Qualifications The Commercial Estimator is responsible for doing material take-offs to develop project estimates from blueprints or other drawings provided for general commercial projects. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Complete full-cycle bidding process for commercial projects, including reviewing blueprints, creating quotes, pricing material, and placing orders. Prepares cost analysis in computer by recapitulating material, labor, equipment, subcontractor and overhead costs incurred in the installation of items. Informs the immediate supervisor of any observed inaccuracies or omissions in quoted items or computer database. Develops and maintains resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, government requirements, etc. Enter and maintain all quotes in company's internal tracking system. Provides submittals and shop drawings as needed using CAD. Works with project manager to coordinate project handoffs. Performs other tasks as assigned. Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
