Primary Purpose of Position
Performs a wide range of HVAC/Refrigeration services for Commercial customers and promotes the sale of all other services.
Primary Duties and Accountabilities
Install, maintain, and repair complex HVAC and refrigeration systems, including advanced air conditioning units, heating systems, and refrigeration equipment.
Diagnose and troubleshoot intricate issues with HVAC and refrigeration systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
Perform comprehensive maintenance and inspections to prevent system failures and ensure compliance with safety and industry standards.
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications, to determine the layout and installation requirements.
Maintain accurate records of work performed, including detailed service reports and inventory management.
Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to provide high-quality service.
Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively.
Minimum Qualifications: Journeyman HVAC/Refrigeration
High school diploma or equivalent
3 years of experience in HVAC and refrigeration maintenance and repair
All required State licensing
EPA certification for handling refrigerants
Demonstrated advanced knowledge of HVAC refrigeration systems, including electrical and mechanical components
Proven ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in team environments
Proven ability to lead and mentor others

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
HVAC apprentices will assist in the installation and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This role is designed for individuals seeking to gain hands-on experience and technical knowledge in the HVAC field while working under the supervision of experienced technicians. The ideal candidate should have basic mechanical and problem-solving skills, experience with or knowledge of HVAC tools, and strong communication abilities. This role involves teamwork, independent work, adaptability to new technologies, attention to detail, and commitment to quality and safety standards. It requires working with external customers and will involve overtime to meet expectations.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
* Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, furnaces, boilers, water heaters, and ductwork.
* Support maintenance activities by cleaning and servicing HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance.
* Help diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system issues by learning to identify problems and recommend solutions.
* Participate in apprentice classroom and field training to develop technical skills and understanding of HVAC systems, safety protocols, and industry standards.
* Learn and apply workplace safety protocols and industry regulations to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
* Additional duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Primary Purpose of Position
The Journeyman HVAC Installer installs and modifies existing residential HVAC equipment and all types of related products according to installation instructions, supervisor instructions, and all applicable county or city codes, which includes performing miscellaneous troubleshooting and repairs, modifying and fabricating sheet metal as needed per installation, and identifying any electrical, plumbing, and/or safety problems that apply to the installation and take necessary corrective action.

Assists in advanced applications of home comfort products.
Performs clerical duties necessary to complete job work orders.
Performs independent work in residential heating and air conditioning, replacement applications, residential plumbing and gas piping, residential flue venting, and residential sheet metal ducting applications.

Driving to customer homes to perform service. Occasional lifting, carrying (up to 30 pounds), pushing and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; frequent stops, kneeling, crouching and/or crawling.
Diagnose causes of problems or failures in systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and systems repair.
Customer education and training including a system demonstration.
Conduct a thorough walkthrough / site evaluation with the customer to review work order to make sure the system meets their needs and expectations.
Install and test the operations of all equipment to ensure proper functionality and signal verification required to establish service.
Identify opportunities to improve the use and functionality of the customers system and provide those recommendations.
Maintain safety practices to prevent against injury and damage to property.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace / job site, ensuring customers satisfaction after the interaction.

Position Summary
HVAC Service Technician is responsible for completing a variety of tasks associated with quality repair and maintenance of residential HVAC equipment. The HVAC Service Technician will receive routed work from dispatch, will respond to service calls in a timely manner and perform work to the company's quality expectations. All technicians will promote warranty products to American Water customers. This role requires the use of a valid driver's license to drive a company vehicle and must be refrigerant certified. This individual will be responsible to work and drive safely at all times.
While our headquarters is in Naperville, this role is field based in Indiana and requires regular travel to customer home locations.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
Understands and comply with all safety policies including calibrating gas Sensit tool every month.
Responsible for reclaiming refrigerant for clean and check technicians in his/her territory during the air conditioning season.
Able to complete most repairs to furnaces, condensers, humidifiers and accessories with no assistance.
Able to complete minor repairs on Hydronic systems including maintenance, pump repair or replacement, zone valve repairs, air purging, standard heat exchangers, evaporator coils and seasonal start-up of the system.
Mastered all electrical wiring of furnaces, condensers and thermostats. This includes high and low voltage wiring.
Thoroughly understands and complies with the inventory policies and procedures. Accountable for use of inventory involving his/her work.
Able to complete all tasks sent to him/her via FSA app including billing customers correctly, ordering parts and materials needed for job completion and handling paperwork properly, timely and legibly.
Must be able to cycle count inventory upon procurement's request.
Ability to utilize a variety of analytical techniques to solve problems.
