This position is responsible for overseeing OSP Construction activities performed by Frontier contractors. The Construction Coordinator is responsible to ensure contractor-produced work meets or exceeds quality standards and that projects are completed per design and within the allocated budget. This position requires strong communication skills, verbal and written, as projects will need to be coordinated with State and/or local municipalities as well with other utilities or departments. The Construction Coordinator ensures contractor compliance with State, local, and company requirements while working within the public ROW or utility easement. This position requires strong teamwork with the Frontier Construction Supervisor as well as the Frontier OSP Engineer. This position requires teaming cross-functionally with departments such as Logistics, Contract Administration, ISP Engineering/COE, and Project Management. Required Skills:

Minimum five years of combined Outside Plant construction and splicing experience.

# Summary:


The Construction Coordinator focuses on supporting field activities performed by direct hire crews and subcontractors. They will initially be based in the Houston office before mobilizing to the field. They will support preconstruction planning, work packaging, field material requisitioning, setup of automation tools and databases, and liaise with design teams as required.


# Responsibilities:


Coordinates with engineering on constructability and design issues.


Leads set up of automation tools for construction progress tracking and quality records


Works with engineering team to ensure appropriate data is available for construction automation


Responsible for quantity take-off, control, reporting and forecasting


Prepares requisitions for field procured materials, material substitution, services and equipment


Reviews material receiving reports and warehousing to assure delivery of correct materials


Coordinates subcontract activities to ensure materials, equipment and quality comply with design plans and specifications


Issues field sketches to support construction needs


Coordinates automation issues and responses among construction teams


Develops dashboards and reporting (Power BI) to support project needs

Typically requires bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related field) and a minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience or 4-6 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree


Effective communication skills and ability to work with various stakeholders.


Technical knowledge of all phases of construction engineering relating to a single discipline interfacing with all areas, or in a multi-discipline position assigned to a single area.


Prior experience supervising and administering subcontractors.


Prior experience working in a field engineering organization support direct-hire work preferred.
