• BS Construction Management or BS Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical or Civil) and 1-2 years related experience in industrial or commercial construction/project management.
• Must be willing to travel and have reliable transportation. (Daily driving approx. 20% & travel within sales region, approx. 50%). Some weekends required.
• Strong communication and organizational skills and have a thorough understanding of construction safety regulations.
• Successful candidate will possess the means for paying for travel with monthly reimbursement of travel expenses

We have an immediate need for a Virtual Design Construction Engineer for our office in Fishers, IN.

Ideal candidate will have a College Degree in Construction Management, or similar discipline and at least one year of experience working in a related field of construction management in VDC/BIM role with an A/E/C firm (internships included). Accountable for project support of operational procedures specifically construction activities as it relates to project documentation, monitoring and coordination in such a way as to ensure scheduled completion of the projects within established budget, time, and quality standards. Analyzes design for assigned architectural, structural and MEP conversions to arrive at workable models and ensure constructability. Checks for quality and accuracy of models, extracts quantities, clash detection and resolution, analyzes scheduling and cost, resolves workforce conflicts and creates documentation and representations.

Minimum 5 years of work experience, including at least one-year Construction experience in similar role, including internships or as a craft professional. Demonstrated effective verbal, written, and presentation skills. Demonstrated problem solving skills and critical thinking skills. Basic knowledge of various Construction software including those pertaining to Project Management (Procore preferred), Microsoft Suite, Accounting (Sage preferred), Scheduling (Asta or Project preferred), Modeling (Revit) and PDF Editing (Bluebeam). Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, especially Word and Excel. Autodesk Software, Bluebeam, 3D virtual Software

Northwest Division
Shimmick's Northwest Division focuses on transportation, transit, water resources, and water treatment projects in northern California, Washington, and throughout the Northwest. In 2013, the division expanded its footprint to Washington State, where Shimmick secured the $321 million E-320 South Bellevue Extension for Sound Transit. In addition, this division was awarded the APWA 2019 Public Works Project Award in the environment category for the Alameda Creek Fish Passage project in California.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
Under direct supervision, performs routine duties requiring knowledge of basic engineering principles. Limited exercise of judgment is required on details of work. Performs specific and limited portions of broader assignments. Spends large percentage of time performing estimating take-offs and performing walk-downs for quantity tracking purposes, reporting of installed quantities, performing field inspections to verify adherence to design.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Preferred Qualifications:
Concrete structures, MSE Walls, Rail, Transit, Wastewater
Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office Suite
Strong problem-solving skills and consistent attention to detail
Ability to manage changing deadlines and work well under pressure for multiple team leaders
Work independently and effectively to prioritize multiple tasks
Highly organized with excellent time management skills
Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills
