About Construction Handyman Technician Position
The Commercial Facility Technician works independently providing routine building maintenance tasks or services for a predesignated route as well as responding to service calls, emergencies, and work orders at various commercial locations throughout the region. This position will perform building maintenance tasks in one or more fields (e.g., carpentry; electrical and lighting repairs; ventilation, and minor air conditioning (HVAC); plumbing; painting, etc.). Performs general cleaning and other tasks as assigned. The Commercial Facility Technician position may be required to be on-call.

Our Construction Foremen lead and direct crew members in all phases of construction at client sites to manage the successful and profitable execution of construction service jobs. You'll handle site management duties including leading and participating in the day-to-day implementation of project deliverables, overseeing site progress, and proactively managing to the schedule and budget. This position builds continuous and profitable working relationships with customers, effectively resolves on-the-job problems, and ensures the safety of workers, equipment, and the public.

What You’ll Do:

· Receive, communicate, and coordinate the successful completion of daily assignments

· Read and interpret construction project plans and diagrams

· Confirm with Project Manager quantities and types of materials, tools, equipment, and labor (including subcontractors) needed; purchase supplies that are not stocked by company and arrange for delivery or

pick-up

· Coordinate, direct, and control crew activities, including communication with local utility services prior to excavating

· Proactively communicate with client representatives involved with project and maintain effective crew interaction with the public and/other work crews

· Train crew and ensure company, client, and government rules and regulations are followed

· Oversee updates to project and ensure job files are maintained accurately at work sites, including daily logs, records of work performed, and materials used

· Provide critical input into selection/evaluation of crew and assist in development/implementation of safety training and equipment maintenance programs

· Participate in work site inspections to identify project progress and establish action plans to address observed concerns

· Conduct daily toolbox safety meetings and document equipment safety inspection audits

· Attend company-sponsored safety training seminars and educational programs and document deficiencies in safety practices/equipment with supervisory staff

· Safely operate and maintain vehicles and equipment, report maintenance requirements to supervisor, repair damaged equipment within cost limits and document IFTA mileage reports for monthly tax payments

· Restore jobsite to conditions found prior to beginning work and return unused materials to local warehouse with documentation to inventory control

What We Need from You:
· Must have a Class A CDL

· At least four (4) years of verifiable experience in cathodic protection installations

· Requires significant field-construction exposure that may be gained through practical construction experience and/or a degree in engineering with good field/design experience

· Travel required, may be extensive at times

· Strong team and internal customer service skills to effectively communicate with customers and employees

· Balance multiple tasks simultaneously, adjust to work-related demands efficiently, and persist at difficult tasks despite unexpected obstacles

· Committed to continuous self-improvement and willing to seek increased opportunities for responsibility to achieve personal growth

· Demonstrate conscientiousness and dependability to produce results, recognize company goals, and maintain spirit as well as letter of the rules
