This position will oversee field execution of logistics and construction projects, providing direct construction management and technical oversight to ensure safe and reliable operations of natural gas compressor stations, pipelines, CTB sites, LACT units, pumps, and various related equipment. The Sr. Construction Specialist will also play a crucial role in supporting ongoing operations and maintenance activities, ensuring alignment with safety, environmental policies, and operational excellence.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide leadership and direct oversight to the MPLX Construction Team and Contract Inspection personnel.
Collaborate with project engineers, operations, safety, environmental, and planning teams to develop detailed scopes of work, comprehensive work packages, and resource-loaded schedules.
Perform on-site assessments, ensuring constructability and alignment with operational requirements.
Coordinate with Procurement for the timely acquisition of materials, equipment, and contractor services, supporting inspection and receipt of materials.
Lead construction staffing efforts during FEL and execution stages, ensuring adherence to approved designs, project budgets, schedules, and MPLX safety and environmental standards.
Partner with project controls on scheduling, cost management, and productivity analysis, promptly addressing variances and conflicts to maintain project timelines.
Ensure proper testing, documentation, and as-built records are accurately maintained and filed according to specifications, contracts, and regulatory requirements.
Prepare detailed construction inspection estimates and staffing plans.
Collaborate with project managers to evaluate contractor bids, ensuring value-driven selections based on quality, cost, and timeliness.
Support operations and maintenance activities by providing construction and technical expertise for operational reliability and integrity management.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Minimum high school diploma or GED required.
Minimum 5-10 years of direct experience in construction supervision, foreman, or planning roles specifically within pipeline and gas compression projects.
Work Environment: travel to field locations or fabrication sites will be required; therefore, a valid driver's license is required.
Demonstrated experience in natural gas or petrochemical industries required.
Strong knowledge of operational, safety, and environmental standards relevant to natural gas compression and pipeline facilities.
Proven ability to effectively manage contractor staff and project resources and ensure compliance with MPLX and regulatory guidelines.
This role requires a willingness to travel extensively (50% of the time) to various project sites within the designated Western regions.

Keeps accurate project documentation to ensure all documentation necessary for applicable regulatory and internal compliance is maintained and managed.

Verifies property address/location before services has begun.

Must be proficient in the operation of all lawn maintenance equipment and becomes proficient in all new equipment needed for lawn maintenance.
Instructs crew members in the proper way of handling mowing equipment, and safety procedures in handling that equipment.
Directs workflow and work performed by other members of the crew. Becomes familiar with customers' expectations and service contracts.
Greases and oils machines and equipment, checks blades for replacement or sharpens, reports any malfunctions for repair and ensures that all equipment needed for work is loaded and working properly.
Ensures trailer lights are working properly, including trailer gate, boards, safety clips, reports any malfunctions for repair.
Identifies and reports to Service Manager any damages to customer's property immediately. Before leaving customer's property inspects the work area to ensure all maintenance was provided according to contracted services.
Uses personal protective equipment at all times as is required by safety standards and for prevention purposes.
Meets deadlines of route and informs Service Manager of all resets and skipped services or not completed work on a daily basis.
Inspects all equipment when moved to a new trailer (see Service Manager for checklist). Checks vehicle when a new one is assigned (see Service Manager for checklist).
Responsible for knowing and following all company and department policies and protocols, including the PTO policy.
Attend required department meetings and company or vendor training as required.
Your readiness to work on Saturday is obligatory when work is not completed during normal work days.

Key Responsibilities:
Assist with water, fire, and mold mitigation projects, including cleanup, demolition, and restoration tasks
Support construction team members with framing, drywall, painting, and other general labor tasks during the rebuild phase
Operate basic hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
Maintain a clean and safe job site by removing debris, organizing materials, and following all safety protocols
Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment as needed
Work alongside crew leaders, project managers, and other team members to meet project timelines and ensure client satisfaction
Qualifications:
Previous experience in construction, demolition, or restoration preferred but not required
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including heavy lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods

Respond to emergency calls 24 hours a day, 7 days a week if called upon
Able to work shifts up to 12-16 hours (day or night), both indoors and outdoors in the sun, which requires being on your feet
Able to hydro blast utilizing a shotgun
Must be capable of setting up equipment for the job including lifting and carrying hoses that may weigh up to 50 lbs
Required to work at elevations and wear fall protection harnesses
Ability to work in confined spaces for 4-7 hours per day; stand or walk for long periods
