Qaqaq Construction is seeking a General Laborer to support various physical tasks on construction sites. Responsibilities include site preparation and cleanup, trench digging, scaffolding setup, demolition, and debris removal. The role also involves loading and distributing materials, tools, and equipment to designated areas. May operate a range of hand and power tools such as air hammers, tampers, cement mixers, hoists, and measuring instruments. This position may also assist skilled trades and perform other duties as assigned.
**Responsibilities**
Essential functions will include:
+ Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate hazards.
+ Erect and dismantle scaffolding, shoring, braces, traffic barricades, ramps, and other temporary structures.
+ Load, unload, and distribute building materials, tools, and machinery to appropriate locations.
+ Measure, mark, and record layout dimensions for construction activities.
+ Operate pumps, compressors, or generators to power tools, equipment, or move materials.
+ Mix, pour, and spread concrete using portable cement mixers.
+ Control and direct traffic around work zones.
+ Dig trenches or ditches, backfill excavations, and compact or level earth using hand and pneumatic tools.

+ Understanding of construction materials, methods, and tools used in building and repair work.

**Qualifications**
Minimum Qualifications:
+ At least 1 year of general labor or construction experience.
Physical and Mental Demands:
+ Occasionally lift, push, or pull 50-100 lbs; frequently lift, push, or pull up to 20 lbs.
+ Frequent bending, squatting, crouching, crawling, and kneeling.
+ Ability to climb stairs, ladders, scaffolding, and ramps safely.
+ Prolonged standing for intervals of 2-3 hours.
+ Work at various physical levels (waist, eye, overhead).
+ Maintain balance on uneven surfaces and around obstacles.
+ Sufficient handgrip strength and coordination to operate tools and equipment.
+ Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in compliance with OSHA standards.
+ Able to respond to verbal and audible instructions.
+ Adequate vision for construction tasks.
+ Comfortable working at heights over 12 feet using ladders, scaffolding, or man lifts.

Working Conditions:
+ Exposure to extreme temperatures, including hot and cold weather.
+ Regular exposure to wet or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and outdoor environments.
+ Frequent work at heights and in areas with fumes or airborne particles.
+ High noise levels are common; hearing protection may be required.
+ Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
+ Work is performed on active construction sites, often in close proximity to moving equipment.

Position Description:
Laborers have general responsibility to provide support and assistance to the other skilled crafts working on the project. Laborers employed by Hensel Phelps provide support for the form carpenters and for the concrete operation in general, ironworkers/rodbusters involved in installing reinforcing steel, and masons involved in the installation of block and brickwork. Essential Duties:
* Preparation of areas for the placement of concrete involves final excavation of dirt and rock and fine grading for floor slabs. This work involves shoveling for extended periods of time.
* Assembly of concrete forms, laborers are required to lift form prefabricated metal form panels and assist in their placement.
* Handle the concrete bucket suspended from a crane that transfers the concrete from the concrete truck to the placement area. After the concrete is poured from the bucket, laborers muck the concrete in slabs to spread it evenly.
* After the concrete has cured, the laborers assist in stripping the concrete forms and transporting them for storage.

Construction labour job in Sheridan, WY
Specific Role: Laborers are key members of EMIT's manufacturing team, with two openings available: Line Load and Line Unload. These roles ensure that parts are safely and efficiently handled as they move through our production line. Line Loaders are responsible for preparing and placing parts onto the line for coating, while Line Unloaders safely remove coated parts, protect them with proper materials, and prepare them for the next stage of production. Both positions require attention to detail, urgency, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Key Accountabilities (Line Load):
* Safely load parts onto the line using proper rigging.
* Perform visual inspections for scratches, rust, spatter, or debris before coating.
* Set aside parts that do not meet quality standards.
* Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area.
Key Accountabilities (Line Unload):
* Safely unload finished coated parts from the automated powder line.
* Stack and protect parts with foam or other materials to prevent damage during transport.
* Remove used hooks and place them in designated bins.
* Transfer finished products to the landing zone for the next production step.
* Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area.
Qualifications:
* High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
* Previous manufacturing or labor experience a plus, but not required.
* Strong attention to detail to ensure product quality.
* Willingness to work with urgency to meet production demands.
* Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Commitment to using proper PPE and following all safety protocols.
Physical & Safety Requirements:
* Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. on a repeated basis.
* Comfortable standing, walking, and moving for the duration of the shift.
* Always use proper PPE when required.
* Follow safety protocols when handling tools and materials.

With close supervision, ensure safe operations, maximum production quantity and quality, while supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of the company. We are currently seeking workers to be flexible and work in different roles based on the needs of the business. The position will report to the site management.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
Performs general labor tasks at work site including shoveling sand.
Complete pre-shift equipment inspections and basic maintenance on equipment as needed.
Works safely, adheres to health and safety rules and uses appropriate PPE.
Follows directions and completes tasks in a timely manner.
Assists with railcar movement to assist with loading and unloading of incoming product.
May operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner ensuring maximum equipment health and productivity.
Has a strong understanding of the work they are assigned to and requires minimal supervision on how to perform work correctly.
Understands and performs basic equipment maintenance as required.
Performs housekeeping duties and cleans around plant equipment on a daily basis.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, wind) for extended periods of time.
Must be willing to work any assigned shift, overtime, weekends, and holidays. The plant has 24 hour/7day operation.
Some background in operating heavy equipment helpful.
Must have a collaborative attitude and willingness to perform any work that is required.
Ability to use basic hand and power tools.
Basic operating knowledge of construction equipment, preferred.
Must be able to read and be proficient with English and simple math.
Basic computer skills helpful.
Must be able to communicate effectively, using both written and spoken forms of communication.
Must be a self-starter and be able to work with close supervision.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis and be at least 18 years of age.
