DAY-TO-DAY
This full-time plumbing position typically works Monday-Friday from 7 am-3:30 pm.

Groundhand is the entry level position in the Construction Department. The employee will typically work four ten hour shifts, however, that can change. The position will also be on call periodically and travel out of town for jobs. This is a pipeline requisition for future projects. The Construction Inspection Specialist documents inspection findings and communicates issues to project leadership. Work is performed independently under limited supervision.
Job Duties:
- Conducts on-site inspections of construction, rehabilitation, and maintenance projects as well as related civil structures (roads, dams, bridges, facilities, utilities, etc.) to verify compliance with approved design specifications, industry standards, safety codes, and applicable federal regulations.
- Documents inspection results inclusive of deficiencies, deterioration, structural condition, deviations between design and execution of construction, required corrective actions and any needed sampling.
- Review contractor submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, and material certifications in coordination with engineers and project management teams.
- Monitors construction progress, prepares and maintains detailed daily reports, deficiency notices, project status reports, and technical recommendations.
- Inspects and verifies construction materials and testing processes (concrete breaks, compaction testing, welding/joint inspections, pressure testing, etc.) to ensure compliance with specifications and standards
- Oversees and coordinates field construction related services on projects, enforcing adherence to safety, environmental, quality control, and permitting requirements
- Conducts site investigations, reviews relevant data including maps, reports, test results, drawings and others as required.
- Participates in pre-construction meetings, design reviews, technical assessments, safety meetings, and project closeout/punch list activities.
- Ensures compliance with guidelines and regulations including permits, safety etc. and delivers technical files and other technical documentation as required.
- Develops, trains, and mentors junior construction professionals, provides technical direction, and serves as a liaison between contractors, engineering staff, and client.
