The primary duties of the General Laborer are to safely assist crews with various types of construction projects. Projects range from performance contracting, energy efficiency retrofit, and backup/supplemental power distribution generator equipment emplacement. The General Laborer will be responsible for the safety and wellbeing of his/her crew members along with the timely completion of each project they are assigned. Laborers need to have the ability to communicate with residents and members of the public in a courteous and respectful manner. Job Title: Contract Marine Construction Laborer The Marine Laborer plays a critical role in the construction and maintenance of marine and coastal infrastructure projects. This position involves performing various manual labor tasks to support the construction, repair, and maintenance of piers, docks, seawalls, and other marine structures. The ideal candidate will have experience in heavy civil construction, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work in challenging environments. The period of employment will start on October 1, 2024, and ends after 4 weeks. Although there could be an opportunity to gain full time employment, it would depend on the need of the company, as well as the skills of the personnel. The project will be with JEA and will be in Jacksonville, FL. The work schedule will be 7 days a week, 12 hours a day, and there will be both day and night shifts. Key Responsibilities: Operate and maintain various types of construction equipment and tools, including but not limited to jackhammers, drills, saws, and concrete mixers. Perform tasks such as concrete demolition and concrete forming. Must have the ability to work in confined spaces, climb ladders, and work at heights with fall gear. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, staying active, and being part of a hardworking team. You'll be placed on-site at one of our national clients, helping maintain a clean, safe, and organized yard and operations area. What You'll Do As a General Laborer, you'll assist with keeping the site clean, organized, and free of debris while supporting equipment operators, mechanics, and supervisors with various tasks as needed. Key Responsibilities: Clean up debris, trash, and loose materials around the yard, shop, and work areas. Assist with pressure washing, sweeping, and general cleaning of buildings, pads, and containers. Organize tools, equipment, and parts in the yard or shop area. Support small maintenance tasks such as painting, organizing parts, or preparing containers. Perform minor landscaping or grounds maintenance duties. Help direct trucks or equipment traffic when needed. Follow all site safety procedures and wear proper PPE at all times. Report any safety concerns or hazards to site supervisors immediately. Perform other duties as assigned to support daily operations. Qualifications What We're Looking For Experience: Prior experience in general labor, sanitation, construction, or warehouse work is helpful but not required. Skills: Ability to follow verbal instructions and work independently or in a team. Willingness to perform physically demanding tasks outdoors. Reliable, punctual, and safety-minded. Requirements: Must be at least 18 years old. Must pass a background check and drug screening. Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions. Job DescriptionSalary: Job Title: Contract Marine Construction Laborer The Marine Laborer plays a critical role in the construction and maintenance of marine and coastal infrastructure projects. This position involves performing various manual labor tasks to support the construction, repair, and maintenance of piers, docks, seawalls, and other marine structures. The ideal candidate will have experience in heavy civil construction, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work in challenging environments. The period of employment will start on October 1, 2024, and ends after 4 weeks. Although there could be an opportunity to gain full time employment, it would depend on the need of the company, as well as the skills of the personnel. The project will be with JEA and will be in Jacksonville, FL. The work schedule will be 7 days a week, 12 hours a day, and there will be both day and night shifts. Key Responsibilities: Operate and maintain various types of construction equipment and tools, including but not limited to jackhammers, drills, saws, and concrete mixers. Perform tasks such as concrete demolition and concrete forming. Must have the ability to work in confined spaces, climb ladders, and work at heights with fall gear. Load, unload, and transport construction materials and equipment to and from the worksite. Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe work environment for all team members. Work collaboratively with other team members, including heavy equipment operators, excavators, welders, and commercial divers, to complete projects on time and within budget. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 2 years of experience in heavy civil construction but not a requirement. Ability to operate and maintain construction equipment and tools. Strong understanding of construction techniques and best practices. Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor in various weather conditions. Basic knowledge of safety regulations and practices in construction. Must pass a background check. Work Environment: Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and rain. May be required to work at heights, in confined spaces, and on uneven terrain.
