Responsible for supervising and organizing the work of and assuring the technical correctness of functions performed by other Foreman, Equipment Operators, semi-skilled and unskilled laborers within the division Establish policies, methods and procedures to be followed by work crews Investigates citizen complaints and takes or recommends appropriate action Maintains a variety of operational records Monitors equipment utilization and maintenance, recommends replacements and may participate in the preparation of specifications for and the acquisition of equipment May requisition, purchase and/or maintain supplies Ability to operate all equipment in water and sewer divisions, including backhoes, track hoes, bulldozer, dump trucks, frontend loaders, and flush vac equipment KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES Progressive knowledge of the methods and techniques used to supervise and coordinate work crews in the work area Progressive knowledge of the tools, equipment and materials used in the assigned work area Extensive knowledge of departmental policies and procedures Progressive knowledge and skill in operating the tools and equipment used in the assigned area Ability to train, direct and supervise the work of subordinate employees Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and the public Nothing in this limits management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.
