This is a pipeline requisition for future projects. The Construction Inspection Specialist documents inspection findings and communicates issues to project leadership. The role requires applying broad professional knowledge of construction practices to meet client needs, clearly communicating project progress and issues to diverse functional teams and project leadership, and ensuring projects are delivered successfully, safely, and in compliance with applicable requirements. Work is performed independently under limited supervision.
Job Duties:
- Conducts on-site inspections of construction, rehabilitation, and maintenance projects as well as related civil structures (roads, dams, bridges, facilities, utilities, etc.) to verify compliance with approved design specifications, industry standards, safety codes, and applicable federal regulations.
- Documents inspection results inclusive of deficiencies, deterioration, structural condition, deviations between design and execution of construction, required corrective actions and any needed sampling.
- Review contractor submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, and material certifications in coordination with engineers and project management teams.
- Monitors construction progress, prepares and maintains detailed daily reports, deficiency notices, project status reports, and technical recommendations.
- Inspects and verifies construction materials and testing processes (concrete breaks, compaction testing, welding/joint inspections, pressure testing, etc.) to ensure compliance with specifications and standards
- Oversees and coordinates field construction related services on projects, enforcing adherence to safety, environmental, quality control, and permitting requirements
- Conducts site investigations, reviews relevant data including maps, reports, test results, drawings and others as required.
- Participates in pre-construction meetings, design reviews, technical assessments, safety meetings, and project closeout/punch list activities.

* Understands the 5 levels of finishing and demonstrate each.
* Utilizes tools such as: Bazookas, Banjos, Flat and angle boxes, corner rollers, and power sanders.
* Experience with all types and ranges of commercial drywall finishing.
* Measures and marks surface to finish and level of finish work according to blueprints and drawings.
* Inspects drywall surfaces for imperfections (screw heads, misaligned joints, bad hanging etc.). then mark drywall surface with pencil prior to starting.
* Understands the right joint compound (quick-set, lightweight, or standard) to be used at appropriate situations.
* Eliminates visible joints, knows how to eliminate air bubbles, tapes are not blistered, switch and receptacle boxes are finished tight.
* Install cornerbead, trim beads, reveal beads straight, plumb and on tight utilizing string lines, laser, square, or straight edge.
* Ability to work independently on job sites.
* Oversee less experienced installers/laborers.
* Coordination with GC and other subcontractors regarding project expectations.
* Skill required to patch/repair existing drywall into like-new appearance.
