Key Responsibilities Formwork Construction: Build, set, and strip forms for a variety of concrete structures. Accuracy Verification: Check alignment and dimensions of formwork and scaffolding. Placement Support: Assist with placement and finishing of concrete as needed. Safety Practices: Apply safe work methods while handling tools, equipment, and materials. Formwork Construction Build, erect, and strip forms for slabs, walls, decks, elevator cores, and tilt panels. Install reinforcing steel when required. Assemble formwork systems using carpentry tools and equipment. Erect scaffolding and ladders for elevated work. Accuracy Verification Confirm level, plumb, and alignment of forms using hand tools such as levels and plumb bobs. Adjust formwork to meet specified dimensions. Review drawings to validate layout accuracy. Placement Support Assist laborers and finishers with placement and patching activities. Stage and move equipment for upcoming pours. Participate in cleanup after placement activities. Transport and maintain forming materials and small equipment. Safety Practices Follow and promote safe working practices and work areas. Concrete Finisher: Role Description Concrete Finishers deliver the final quality of concrete surfaces by smoothing, leveling, and patching placed concrete. This role combines craftsmanship with technical skill in using hand tools, power finishing equipment, and riding machines to achieve specified tolerances and finishes. Concrete Finishers are essential in meeting customer expectations and bringing the concrete work to its finished state. Key Responsibilities Concrete Finishing: Smooth and finish concrete surfaces to required specifications. Tool Operation: Operate hand and power finishing tools effectively. Daily Execution: Carry out finishing tasks in alignment with daily work plans. Safety and Cleanliness: Contribute to safe and organized jobsite practices. Concrete Finishing Spread, level, and consolidate freshly placed concrete to proper depth and consistency. Use floats, trowels, screeds, and riding machines to achieve required finish. Patch voids, honeycombs, and other surface imperfections as needed. Tool Operation Transport, set up, and maintain finishing equipment. Perform minor maintenance on hand and power finishing tools. Clean and store tools properly after each use. Daily Execution Follow short-interval schedules for finishing tasks. Adjust methods based on weather conditions and mix design. Support sequencing of place/finish operations with Crew Task Lead. Safety and Cleanliness Apply proper ergonomics and lifting techniques when handling equipment. Identify hazards related to slip, trip, and fall risks during finishing operations. Maintain a clean and organized work area during and after finishing activities. Concrete Laborer: Role Description Concrete Laborers play a critical role in concrete construction by assisting carpenters, finishers, and other crew members throughout all phases of work. This role is highly production-oriented and involves tasks such as formwork preparation, material handling, concrete placement assistance, and jobsite cleanup. Concrete Laborers contribute directly to the safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of projects while developing foundational skills in the concrete trade. Key Responsibilities Formwork Support: Assist carpenters and finishers with constructing, setting, and stripping forms. Placement Assistance: Provide support during concrete placement and finishing tasks. Jobsite Upkeep: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized jobsite. Communication: Report hazards, material needs, and issues to the Crew Task Lead. Formwork Support Help construct, set, and strip wood or metal forms for slabs, walls, columns, and tilt-up panels. Keeps an up to date schedule for grain system crews and communicates that with management, sales staff, and our patrons. Schedules grain system construction projects with our patrons and serves as the main site contact for the duration of projects. Keeps accurate job records and strives to complete projects at or below the man-hours sold for applicable projects. Completes daily crew logs with accurate information for management and sales staff in a timely manner. Works with the sales staff to ensure materials are ordered correctly and will arrive in time to meet project requirements. Ability to properly use hand and power tools, climb ladders, and measure and square projects without direct supervision. Assemble machines and bolt, weld, cut, rivet, or otherwise fasten them to foundations or other structures, using proper tools and equipment. Signals crane operator to place assemblies and align units. Interprets sales contracts, construction plans, and material lists to ensure projects are completed to specifications. Able to use necessary equipment to complete projects and instruct personnel on proper use of the following equipment: * Forklifts & Telehandlers * Skid Steers * Trencher * Scissor & Boom Lifts * Hydraulic jacks * Various power tools Works with the management and sales staff to come up with a solutions and complete warranty repairs as they arise minimizing company expense while providing a positive experience and best solution for our patrons. OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS When necessary, helps out with other projects not related to grain systems such as building projects and Pontiac projects. Responsible for approving direct report timecards and performing performance reviews. Attend company and department meetings and training programs.
