You'll also assist Army engineers to analyze construction site needs and transport heavy construction equipment from one site to another.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Construction Laborer must understand the practices, techniques and technologies required in the work they are performing. A significant portion of time will be spent moving about the resort, which has uneven gravel and dirt roads.
Responsibilities
Perform a variety of routine and specialized construction tasks, troubleshooting, making minor and major repairs and new construction, including but not limited to any or all of the following:
New construction infrastructure
Building foundations and slabs
Installing electrical light fixtures, switches, and receptacles, exhaust fans, ceiling fans, water heaters and other appliances, within abilities.
Installing windows and doors, door track mechanisms, hardware, check and repair locks, repair hinges, patch drywall, etc.
Plastering, fence building, floor, ceiling, and wall repairs.
Major and minor roof repairs when Maintenance Department needs assistance.
Ensure that buildings and equipment are maintained in a safe, clean and orderly condition, in accordance with health and fire regulations and as directed by Supervisor or Project Manager.
Report unusual conditions and situations which may endanger mechanical functions or operations of the Resort to Project Supervisor or Project Manager.
Maintain hand and power tools in working condition.

Qualifications
General knowledge of the tools, methods and materials used in building construction work; resort or hotel building/maintenance experience a plus.
Ability to use a variety of hand tools and equipment, measure distance and calculate quantities, and read blueprints.
Specialized repair abilities or experience in some of the following areas preferred: general carpentry, plumbing, plastering, electrical, concrete work, tile work and painting.
Good driving record. Ability to pass drivers background check. Ability to operate light to heavy machinery, vehicles, and equipment.
High school diploma (or equivalent skills and experience).
Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form, receive and give instructions, and prepare work orders and reports, including via the use of a computer or other device.
Must have reliable transportation; reliability and punctuality are critical.
Ability to walk or stand and move about the resort (both indoors and outdoors) for eight or more hours per day, move on and climb a ladder, sit, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing up to 50 pounds.
The position requires manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.

Be on-site when CC is on-site to observe and inspect the activities, process, and products of the CC to ensure compliance with plans and specifications. Occasional work outside normal working hours for early mornings, evenings, and weekends may be required if PBRWS construction activities are going on.
Oversee quality control of CC's work and safety for the construction project and observe and inspect Contractor's work and/or task activities including confirmation of work performance, supplies, and materials installed; and that they meet the Government specification's standards.
Assist Reclamation field staff regarding quality control and safety measures for ensuring construction is performed in accordance with contract specifications, drawings, the CC's safety and health plan, and the Reclamation Safety and Health Standards (RSHS).

Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications

* Proficient in OSHA and Reclamation Safety and Health Standards (RSHS) regulations and the differences between the two safety requirements (OSHA 30 Hours Construction Training and/or RSHS 32 Hours Training). Base CPR, First Aid, automated external defibrillator (AED), and Bloodborne Pathogens (BBP). Optional: OSHA Hazard Communication, Confined Space, Hearing Conservation, and Fall Protection & Prevention.

Work Environment
