CONCRETE FINISHER A Concrete Finisher places and finishes surfaces of poured concrete, such as floors, sidewalks, roads, or curbs using a variety of hand and power tools. Align forms for sidewalks, curbs, or gutters; patch voids; use saws to cut expansion joints. Primary Responsibilities Set and align concrete forms to desired grade and depth Signal truck driver to position truck to facilitate pouring concrete, and move chute to direct concrete in forms, and guides hose on concrete pump truck Screed, level, vibrate and finish concrete, using rake, shovel, power vibrator, hand, power trowel/riding trowel, hand or power screed, and float Place control joints and finish edges, using edging tools, jointers, and straightedge Produce rough concrete surface, using broom Install anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills and other fixtures in freshly poured concrete and/or pattern or stamp surface to provide a decorative finish Monitor environmental variables during concrete curing; take adequate measures to protect concrete Layout joints and saw-cut as prescribed in specifications Chip, scrape, and grind high spots, ridges, and rough projections to finish concrete, using pneumatic chisels, power grinders, or hand tools. Fill and rub voids in poured walls with patch cement to provide a consistent surface Apply hardening, sealing & cleaning compounds to cure concrete surface; waterproof or restore surface.
