Job Duties
* Install, maintain, and repair underground fiber optic communication lines and systems.
* Operate a variety of heavy equipment, including trenchers, plows, and directional boring machines, to create pathways for conduit and cable.
* Pull and place fiber optic cables through conduits and in trenches.
* Work in confined spaces such as trenches, tunnels, and crawl spaces to access and work on telecommunication lines.
* Read and interpret blueprints, staking sheets, and engineering work orders to guide installation and repairs.
* Perform site restoration, including backfilling trenches and landscaping, upon project completion.
* Adhere to industry standards and local, state, and federal regulations, including familiarity with NESC (National Electrical Safety Code) codes to identify violations.
* Conduct regular inspections and maintenance on all tools and equipment.
* Collaborate with team members to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to company standards.
* Maintain accurate records of work performed, including as-built drawings.

Qualifications
Required:

The Class A Utility Lineman is a highly skilled professional responsible for the construction, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of energized and de-energized overhead and underground electrical distribution systems. Safely perform new construction, maintenance, and repair of energized and de-energized overhead distribution systems in accordance with work orders, job prints, and company standards.
Climb poles and operate aerial lift devices to install or maintain overhead lines and equipment including poles, crossarms, insulators, transformers, capacitors, switches, and arrestors.
Set poles, install anchors and guy wires, string and sag conductors, and properly phase and terminate energized lines.
Perform live-line work using rubber glove and hot stick methods with proper PPE and line protection devices.
Troubleshoot and repair faults in primary and secondary systems; replace cutout fuses, clear faulted circuits, and restore power.
Identify and phase out lines and circuits accurately and safely.
Understand and apply rigging techniques, proper use of handlines, knots, and load management for line work.
Perform underground distribution tasks including pad-mount equipment installation, terminations, splicing, and fault locating.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, NESC, and company safety protocols; uphold Minimum Approach Distance (MAD) and grounding requirements.
Conduct tailboard safety meetings and job hazard analyses (JHAs).

Maintain and operate heavy equipment (e.g., digger derricks, bucket trucks) and tools in a safe, efficient, and compliant manner.
Maintain documentation of completed work and inspection records as required.

ADB is seeking a Lineman to join our wireline aerial team and provide proficient manual laborer, cable placement, and equipment operations. This position will provide aerial installation of fiber optic cable for various telecommunication projects. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides mid-level aerial installation functions that could include hand digging with a shovel, setting up traffic control, entry level equipment operations, placing fiber, climbing poles, loading materials, etc. on various safety sensitive utility construction sites
Proficient with utility print and map reading
Has performed at least 2 years of independent aerial cable placement and installation; knows all safety regulations with basic operating skills
Climbs utility poles and/or utilizes lift to place cable in adherence to print designs and maps
Supports the setup and shut down of utility construction projects including traffic control in various conditions including highways, side streets, parking lots, downtown locations, etc.
Safety is the expectation, always follows the required safety practices while performing safety sensitive duties
Trains alongside experience construction crews learning fiber installation, print reading, equipment operations, OSHA requirements, etc.
Loads and unloads materials and equipment in from vehicles at construction yards and jobsites
Acts as right hand to the Foreman, leads by example, ensures safety rules/regulations are followed, and can lead other's on jobsites
Performs OTJ training to with Foreman and/or Senior Foreman to grow and development technical and leadership skills
Assists in identifying hazards by utilizing the pre-task process
Performs other position duties when requested
