What You Will Do:
You will be part of our Construction Services/Design Build Group and part of our Contract Administration team.
* Performing field observation/inspection.
* Material sampling and testing.
* Verify compliance with the plans and specifications.
* Prepare pay estimates, and produce project documentation for private, municipal, county, MnDOT, NDDOT, and federal projects.
* Documentation will include daily diaries, quantity calculations and backup documentation, letters, memos, and spreadsheets.
* You may also help with surveying, proposals, project budgets and schedules and may be involved in design-build, pavement management, or a variety of other technical related activities.

What You Will Bring: We are looking for individuals experienced in:
* Municipal, heavy civil roadway and bridge construction inspection who want to better themselves and want to be challenged.
* 1+ years of construction inspection or related experience is required (5+ years of experience preferred).
* Excellent technical, communication, organizational skills.
* Material testing experience as well as current DOT technical certifications are preferred. Qualified candidates should send a copy of your current DOT certification card when applying.
* Valid driver's license with a good driving record is required.
* You must have the ability to work in a variety of weather conditions and terrains associated with construction sites.

Great States Construction, a leading commercial general contractor based in Fargo, ND, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Superintendent to oversee day-to-day field operations for multi-family and commercial construction projects in the Bismarck market. The Superintendent will manage on-site activities, enforce safety and quality standards, and coordinate subcontractors and field crews. The Superintendent will report directly to the VP of Construction.
Key Responsibilities
Direct all on-site field operations for assigned multi-family and commercial construction projects.
Partner with Project Managers to maintain alignment on project goals, schedules, budgets, and client expectations.
Coordinate daily activities of subcontractors, foremen, and field crews to ensure efficient progress.
Enforce job site safety, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
Monitor quality control to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and building codes.
Lead daily/weekly job site meetings with subcontractors and field teams.
Provide accurate daily logs, progress reports, and field documentation.
Anticipate and resolve field-related issues, escalating when necessary in coordination with the Project Manager.
Support scheduling, logistics, and resource planning to keep projects on track.
Participate in project closeout, ensuring punch list items are completed and the site is turned over to the client in excellent condition.
Qualifications
Minimum of 7-10 years of field experience in construction, with proven leadership as a Superintendent or Foreman.
Strong experience in multi-family construction; additional experience in commercial general contracting required.
Solid understanding of construction methods, building codes, and safety requirements.
Proven ability to lead subcontractors and field crews effectively.
Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to collaborate as a team partner with Project Managers.
OSHA certification required; other industry safety credentials are a plus.
Ability to travel within the Bismarck region as needed.
Clean driving record.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
Proficient with construction technology tools including Procore (preferred) and Bluebeam.
