Your Role:
Perform daily inspection and documentation of road and bridge construction projects and ensure conformance with contract documents.
Maintain daily reports of construction activities, including those of subcontractor activities.
Measurement, calculation, and computation of quantities and construction material usage. Create As-built drawings and prepare project pay items for Audit.
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers, sub-consultants, and clients
Qualifications
Roadway and bridge construction inspection experience, preferably on Oklahoma Department Of transportation (ODOT) and/or Oklahoma Turnpike Authority (OTA). AASHTO material testing training and certifications are considered a plus. Must be able to pass the exam within 3 months of hire.
Knowledge of ODOT construction standards, specifications, and methods. Be able to interpret contracts & special provisions, plans and specifications.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, As-Builts, and associated contract documents.
Be able to obtain material tickets and invoices on site to assure correct material is being delivered. File accurately in project files to back up calcs & drawings for audit.
Be able to calculate Asphalt and concrete placement and accurately document for correct material placed.
Experience in Microsoft applications, Site Manager, and ProjectWise software. Be able to run Progressive estimates on above software.
Ability to work well with supervision and coworkers and positively contribute to the work environment.
Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record. Excessive traffic violations and/or accidents during employment, will result in losing the privilege of operating company vehicle and possible termination.
OSHA 10 certification, confined space certification, fall protection certification; are all a plus.
Must be able to walk on unfinished grade and adjust to weather elements, throughout the year. This position is 90% working outside the office setting. Must be able to walk and stand in open air for long periods of time.
Required accountability due to handling public funds by issuing estimates from public agency to private contractors.
Must be punctual. May require nighttime work. Due to nature of Construction Inspection, it may require working on weekends and Over time.
Physical Requirements:
This position may require protracted or irregular hours depending on the season.
Traverse over rough terrain, and constantly position self to operate miscellaneous survey equipment.
Occasionally ascend/descend ladders into trenches or onto roofs when inspecting construction and land development sites.
May be subject to exposure to extreme outdoor weather conditions, hazardous materials and chemicals, heavy construction equipment, confined spaces, heights, and air and waterborne pathogens.
May handle and move items up to 50 lbs for various needs.

About the Role

Is responsible for quality control on the project: holds all works accountable for adherence to the project plans and specifications. Holds pre-installations meetings to review installation procedures for all major materials used and has a thorough understanding of the project specifications and industry standards for installation of all materials to be used. Pre-installation meetings include manufacturers representatives, required design team members, affect ed subcontractors, and if necessary the owners representative. Assures that the work adheres to the project plans, specifications, codes, and other governmental agencies requirements. Coordinates inspections and insures that testing is being performed per the contract documents.
Maintains project budget through management of all labor associated with the project. Tracks and monitors the labor force for productivity .
Manages company and rental equipment for maximum productivity and minimum cost.
Keeps accurate record of time for employees, accurately codes the time to the tasks completed and reports time to the office in a timely manner.
Coordinates and facilitates the closeout of the project. Is responsible to assure that all punch list items are completed in a timely manner and that the own er is satisfied with both the quality and timeliness of the project as it is completed.

Interpret and enforce construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and contracts
Plan and sequence work to meet project milestones and deadlines
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite
Subcontractor & Trade Coordination
Schedule, coordinate, and supervise subcontractors and suppliers
Conduct daily site walks and weekly coordination meetings
Ensure quality workmanship and compliance with project standards
Resolve field issues, conflicts, and constructability challenges
Schedule & Productivity
Develop and manage short-term (2-6 week) look-ahead schedules
Monitor project progress and proactively address delays
Coordinate inspections, material deliveries, and staging
Quality Control
Enforce quality standards and building code compliance
Inspect work in place and completed installations
Ensure punch list items are completed accurately and on time
Safety Management
Enforce all jobsite safety policies and OSHA regulations
Conduct safety meetings and toolbox talks
Identify and mitigate jobsite hazards
Communication & Documentation
Maintain daily reports, progress photos, and field documentation
Communicate effectively with Project Managers, Owners, Architects, and Inspectors
Support RFIs, change orders, and as-built documentation
Project Closeout
Coordinate final inspections and obtain Certificate of Occupancy
Manage punch list completion and turnover to ownership
Assist with warranty and post-construction activities as needed
Qualifications
5+ years of experience as a Superintendent on multi-family or apartment construction projects
Proven experience with ground-up apartment construction
Strong knowledge of construction methods, building codes, and safety regulations
Ability to read and interpret plans, schedules, and specifications
Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Preferred
OSHA 30 certification
Experience with scheduling software (Primavera, MS Project, or similar)
Experience managing projects with 100+ units
Proficiency with constructionmanagement software (Procore, PlanGrid, Bluebeam, etc.)
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
Ability to walk active job sites, climb stairs and ladders, and work in varying weather conditions
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as required
