Your Typical Day and Other Key Details
Service Delivery & Reporting
Data Entry & Reporting: Oversees or directly manages data entry tasks to ensure all client and talent performance data is accurately captured. This includes monitoring time entry, tracking attendance, and overseeing payroll and invoicing processes. Contract compliance audits are conducted on a quarterly basis to ensure adherence to agreed terms and conditions of the client, in addition that all talent placed is continuing to meet all onboarding requirements. Additionally, the Onsite Manager ensures that safety reports and any feedback from both talent and clients are documented and maintained for accurate records.
Client Reporting: Prepares and delivers client-specific reports, ensuring all data is accurate and reconciled. This involves cross-referencing talent timesheets to ensure that hours, rates, and other critical details align with the client's requirements. Regular communication is maintained with clients to ensure transparency and accuracy in reporting.
Order Management: Processes any additional client orders, ensuring that the appropriate talent is assigned and ready to meet client demands. This includes real-time adjustments and coordination with internal stakeholders to align resources with client needs.
Talent Engagement & Support:
Talent New-Hire Check-In's: Checks in with talent, asking about their experience, addressing any concerns, and offering support where necessary.
Performance & Safety Feedback: Reviews performance metrics and addresses any safety concerns with talent, ensuring a feedback loop that promotes safety and operational excellence. This regular interaction ensures that talent stays engaged and aware of expectations. Issues such as performance concerns or safety violations are discussed in a private location, documented, and addressed to ensure continuous improvement and a safe working environment.
End-of-Day Wrap-Up:
Administrative Tasks: Wraps up any remaining administrative duties, including finalizing safety reports, correcting time clock discrepancies, validating client and talent reports, and ensuring all operations are prepared for the next day.
Safety Reporting: Reviews any safety incidents or near-misses that occurred during the day, documenting them and collaborating with the safety team to address any hazards. This ensures that all safety concerns are resolved, and preventive measures are in place moving forward.
Client & Talent Updates: Before closing out the day, the Onsite Manager provides updates to clients regarding the day's activities, including any safety or performance highlights. All data is reconciled, and any concerns from the client or talent are addressed promptly to ensure smooth operations the following day.

Reviewing video tape of project prior to the start of construction.

Locating main line valves and verifying operation to ensure shut down.
Perform observations on all large taps on the water utility company's waterlines.
Verify delivery of all material when ordered by the water utility company to ensure accuracy of delivery. Along with checking materials out of the water utility company stock yard when picked up by the contractor and charging out materials from the water utility company stock to ensure accuracy of inventory.
Prepare valve cards and hydrant cares and provide numbering and placing on distribution map.
Perform the filling of all lines, witness pressure tests, flush and sample for bacteria testing. Afterwards, deliver the samples to filter plant.
Place a new main in service and notify the fire department along with local officials.
Maintaining daily inspection reports, mileage reports and time ticks for every project.
Ability to complete “as-built” documentation per the water utility company guidelines.
Occasionally travel to other project locations within Ohio.

Locating main line valves and verifying operation to ensure shut down.
Perform observations on all large taps on the water utility company s waterlines.

Prepare valve cards and hydrant cares and provide numbering and placing on distribution map.

Place a new main in service and notify the fire department along with local officials.
Maintaining daily inspection reports, mileage reports and time ticks for every project.
Ability to complete as-built documentation per the water utility company guidelines.

Job Duties:
Provide worksite monitoring of constructions crews to verify safety compliance
Maintain detailed records of jobsite activities and compliance issues
Examining and maintaining company materials ensuring they meet quality standards
Documenting any deviations from plans, safety concerns, requesting corrective actions, and ensuring issues are resolved
Submit daily field reports detailing Contractor and/or Railroad activities.
Provide clear, concise, and thorough safety briefings with all personnel on each site.
Intervene as needed when safety, compliance, or policies are violated

Responsibilities and Duties:
Perform technical inspections to assure that contractors build a quality construction project. The TCI will monitor and document that roadway, highway, and bridge projects are constructed in accordance with the pertinent plans and specifications.
Quality assurance monitoring for materials testing, including but not limited to soils concrete, aggregates, and bituminous products.
Comply with the PA Turnpike, PennDOT and/or Client and project specific overtime requirements.
Meet with the Clients Project Engineer/ Manager/ Supervisor or Consultant Manager/ Supervisor daily, or as required, to receive instructions and assignments.
Complete project documentation requirements. Daily progress reports, periodic cost estimates, project work activities including records of labor, material, quantities, and equipment used.
Perform periodic highway occupancy permit compliance and erosion and sedimentation controls compliance.
Request from Manager/Supervisor assistance for any instruction or assignment in the inspection of materials and workmanship to ensure compliance with contract requirements and established standards.
Required Qualifications:
Two (2) years of transportation construction inspection experience and a High School Diploma.
Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to read and interpret plans and specifications, measure and calculate quantities, and perform quality control testing on highway materials will be considered.
Associate Degree in Engineering may be substituted for one (1) year of experience.
Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.
Previous experience working on PennDOT or Pennsylvania Projects is preferred.
ACI Field Technician Certification, PennDOT Concrete Technician Certification, NECEPT Field Technician Certification- Concrete or Asphalt, NICET Certification in Heavy Highway Construction and CDS Certifications are desirable.

What You'll Do as a Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor (TCIS):
Supervise and assign inspection teams across active highway and bridge projects
Support the growth of construction inspection services in the PennDOT District 1 region
