The Role

Barton Malow is actively seeking an experienced and highly motivated General Trades Manager to support construction projects out of our Orlando, Florida office. The General Trades Manager is responsible for overseeing self-perform operations within a designated geographic area or on assigned projects. This role focuses on interior construction activities including metal framing, rough carpentry, drywall, acoustical ceilings, doors/frames/hardware, specialties, and special projects. The General Trades Manager provides leadership, direction, and accountability for project execution and financial performance. Success in this role requires strong business acumen, field coordination expertise, and demonstrated leadership, organizational, and time management skills. This position reports to the Senior General Trades Manager or General Trades Director.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Identify and develop opportunities for self-perform work that align with business unit goals.
Prepare accurate project estimates using BMB best practices and local market knowledge.
Manage all aspects of project execution including submittals, procurement, scheduling, safety, subcontractor agreements, change management, labor productivity, and closeout.
Provide timely and accurate forecasting of project financial performance, incorporating labor productivity data and project trends.
Communicate project status and performance updates to company leadership.
Offer guidance, mentorship, and support to self-perform team members within the assigned geographic area.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
* 5+ years' experience in interiors construction.
* Knowledge of interior systems including CFMF, interior framing, drywall, carpentry, acoustical ceilings and specialty ceilings.
