Essential Functions
Plan, organize, and execute all aspects of the project
Determine and coordinate all necessary project resources
Make decisions on project(s)
Function as the liaison between the field and the client(s) to facilitate effective construction activities
Prepare and track job quotes and bid packages
Coordinate with Engineering Department on Design-Build work and obtain Plan Check Approval
Review contracts, trade specific work, and insurance documents (OCIP/ CCIP/ PLA)
Identify, create, and negotiate all change orders in a timely manner
Maintain all progress tracking logs and manage releases of lighting gear and controls
Direct, train, and mentor a Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager, as applicable
Collaborate with field supervision and internal support resources to ensure the project stays on schedule and maximizes profitability
Coordinate, attend, and/or lead all project related meetings, i.e., Team Meetings, CSI Job Strategy Process Meetings and Customer/Client Meetings, etc.
Prepare for and attend monthly Project Reviews with upper management
Review Job Reports and create monthly cost and billing projections
Oversee Billing Processes and actively work to maintain a healthy cash flow position
Prepare weekly Friday Letters for clients, providing project status updates
Monitor and approve all job-related cost expenditures
Manage and track subcontractors
Maintain an active role in project safety in conjunction with CSI's safety team
Complete project closeout process

Qualifications
Estimating experience: Accubid preferred
A Bachelor's degree in a construction, engineering, or business related field from an accredited college or university preferred (*)
A minimum of five years in the electrical construction trade, with a strong knowledge of construction sequencing, construction methods, and materials practices; including knowledge of electrical systems (*)
LEED AP and OSHA 30 certifications are desired but not mandatory
(*) Can be a combination of trade, education, and relevant work experience
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Proficiency in MS Office Suite, BlueBeam, and understanding of AutoCAD and Revit

Essential Functions
Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards to mitigate risk and ensure project success and profitability
Make difficult decisions regarding projects and the allocation of project resources

The primary role of the General Superintendent is to protect the company from risk and to ensure that company guidelines and procedures are followed in all aspects of project execution from project start-up through completion. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Proficient in our Senior Superintendent job description, plus:
Ability to manage all day-to-day field construction operations; consistently visit all jobsites and field teams.
Manage, mentor, and train all field employees - ensure field employees are performing to maximum ability.
Communicate effectively and consistently with internal team members and external trade partners.
Interview field candidates.

Partner with Warehouse Manager to ensure material/labor needs are met and shop/tools/supplies are in functioning condition.
Attend and contribute to preconstruction team, weekly OAC, Bi-Weekly project management, and leadership meetings.
Participate in job walks, review plans, specifications, and contracts with Superintendents to ensure understanding of full project scope.
Review and understand construction costs and labor budgets as related to individual projects and company goals.
Manage CVG's field teams and ensure subcontractor compliance to achieve optimum performance, providing leadership in the quality process and safety/accident prevention programs.
Verify and maintain records and certifications.
Leadership
Set expectations, delegate tasks, and ensure completion. Give authority to work independently. Encourage accountability from team members.
Mentor, coach, and train Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, Carpenters, Laborers, Warehouse, and Interns.

Develop and maintain new and current relationships with management, engineers, city inspectors, architects, consultants, and clients.
Partner with HR Director to ensure employees receive timely and effective performance feedback and communicate field staffing needs.

Partner with Executives to ensure understanding of the overall business objectives.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
At least 10 years of work experience as a Superintendent or experience in a commercial construction leadership role.
Experience with various commercial construction projects such as Tenant Improvements, Ground Up, Building Renovations, Life Science, and more.
Ability to manage a team of 20+ field employees at any given time.
Understanding of construction practices and procedures.
Extensive knowledge and execution with respect to project layout, civil, structural, and architectural drawings and interpretations.
Extensive knowledge of Building Management Systems: security, fire systems, mechanical systems, electrical systems, and data systems.
Extensive knowledge with schedules and scheduling.
Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, and Procore.
Completion of OSHA 30 is required.
Completion of CPR and First Aid training is required.
Strong communication skills (verbal and written) - must be able to speak, read, and write in English.
Organized with a strong attention to detail and accuracy; excellent follow-through skills.

Role Description
The VP - National Head of Construction will report to the Chief Development Officer. The Head of Construction will be the team lead for the construction organization managing a large volume of coast-to-coast pre-construction and construction activities. The person will have direct management of the full construction team of project engineers and project managers.
