Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Account Managers to estimate and review MEP service projects valued over $25K.
Submit estimates exceeding $50K to the General Manager for final review.
Prepare and submit all estimates and documentation to the Special Projects Department Manager.
Interpret construction specifications, review drawings, and submit pre-bid inquiries.
Develop mechanical estimates using approved estimating software and tools.
Input and track project data in Sales Management software (North Boundary).
Organize and archive all project-related documentation for internal reviews.
Conduct material and labor take-offs; analyze labor requirements.
Lead project kickoff meetings and track project progress through completion.
Generate submittals, O&M manuals, and manage change orders and procurement.
Ensure project compliance with budgets, timelines, codes, and safety regulations.
Work with accounting on invoicing and financial tracking.
Communicate with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, professionalism, and client satisfaction.
Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum 5 years of mechanical project estimating experience (commercial/industrial).
Strong working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
2+ years of project management experience preferred.
Experience with estimating tools/software such as QuickPen, Trimble, SoftQuote, or SMEP is a plus.
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain ultimate responsibility for delivery of project quality, cost, schedule, and safety:
Develop, maintain, distribute, and update project-specific Project Management Plan, including Health & Safety Plans and Quality Management Plans
Conduct safety meetings and training programs to ensure safety requirements are met for each assigned project
Coordinate audits of quality management processes and procedures on the projects
Sustain continuous improvement for all project processes
Provide inspection, field engineering, technical advisement for issues related to civil, tunnel, track, and bridge construction activities, as-needed.
Review project proposal and scope of work to determine schedule, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project completion, assisting in contract negotiations, as required.

Possess proven Client Management Skills including:

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

10+ years experience in related construction oversight required
Professional Engineer (P.E.) license a plus

Coordinate and perform field testing of materials associated with inspection as required.
Implement quantity calculations for pay estimates.
Performs analytical calculations such as basic earthwork, grading, profiles, and special staking procedures.
Communicates verbally and in writing with contractor, owner, and project stakeholders as directed.
Ability to act as the on-site Administrator in the absence of the on-site Administrator.
May direct and coordinate assigned staff as well as mentor's technical expertise with others.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years in the field or in trade-related training in a design, construction inspection, construction materials engineering/testing, or other construction related field.
Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.
Knowledge and experience with equipment used in construction inspection, and field testing of construction materials.
Must be able to read, write, comprehend and speak English fluently.
Attendance, punctuality and reliability are essential requirements.
Able to work independently, make routine decisions concerning construction work progress.
Current/valid State Driver's License REQUIRED with acceptable driving record.
Ability to pass a fingerprint/background check.
Construction field materials testing certifications, i.e. Asphalt, concrete, workzone, pavement marking, environmental, etc.

For projects over $50K, submit estimates to the General Manager for additional review.
Submit all estimates and relevant documentation to the Special Projects Department Manager for review.

Use company-approved software to create mechanical estimates.
