Your role * Acts as owner's representative for construction projects. * Provides technical expertise and advice in HSE-related requirements and issues to all levels of management in the project. * Provides construction staff with HSE technical support in their development of project-specific HSE plans, identification of HSE-related project budget and staffing resource requirements, and other project[1]specific issues related to program/project HSE compliance and operational requirements. * Assists construction staff with meeting requirements of the project HSE requirements and the company HSE program, including assistance with defining and delivering HSE, OSHA, and/or MSHA training, Participation in medical monitoring processes, and management of HSE-related licenses, permits, and authorizations required to perform construction operations onsite. * Directly oversees the response to all project-related HSE incidents and assists project management with the performance of thorough incident investigation and follow-up activities in accordance with firm requirements. * Coordinates with the Corporate Regional HSE Manager to implement requirements of the firm's HSE Program within the project environment. * Coordinates with the Corporate Regional HSE Manager to obtain support and resources as necessary to ensure the project is able to meet the regulatory compliance and HSE risk management needs for its business activities. * Be available to respond to incidents during off-hours on a rotational basis. * Performs such assignments and duties as the Supervisor may deem necessary from time to time. About you * Bachelor's degree in related discipline, plus minimum seven years of HSE-related technical experience or Associate's degree plus minimum nine years of HSE-related experience. Three years of experience in an HSE management role preferred. * Prior experience with MSHA program is required. Must have ability to obtain MSHA certification(s) within 6 months of hire date. * Prior experience working on mining-related projects onsite is required. * Ability to supervise internal staff, field representatives, and field office personnel. * Leadership and managerial skills. * Analytical and organizational skills. * Very strong communication skills and computer software skills.
