We have an immediate need for a seasoned Construction Project Engineer for our office in Fishers, IN.

Ideal candidate will have a College Degree in Construction Management or similar discipline and at least one year of experience working in a related field of construction management with an A/E/C firm (internships included). Minimum 5 years of work experience, including at least one-year Construction experience in similar role, including internships or as a craft professional. Demonstrated effective verbal, written, and presentation skills. Demonstrated problem solving skills and critical thinking skills. Basic knowledge of various Construction software including those pertaining to Project Management (Procore preferred), Microsoft Suite, Accounting (Sage preferred), Scheduling (Asta or Project preferred), Modeling (Revit) and PDF Editing (Bluebeam). Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, especially Word and Excel. Basic knowledge of contract administration, Requests for Information, Schedule of Values, preparation and adjustment to monthly billings, preparation of bar chart schedules including predecessors, successors, constraints, float, and lags. Basic knowledge of AIA Contract(s): A401, A121, A111.

Continental Propertiesis looking for a motivated individual to join our team of dedicated professionals as a
Project Engineer.

You will work with members of the construction department and other project team members (legal, finance, development) to facilitate several activities associated with the development and construction of our rental housing communities which include workforce housing, market rate and build to rent. You will have the opportunity for career development in the construction department with a stable and growing real estate developer. You will report to the Senior Project Manager.

We are embracing a hybrid work environment and you can work both in the office and remotely.

Essential Responsibilities:


Travel to a specific market(s), overseeing the onsite construction activities for our rental housing communities Help with pre-con activities on multiple projects such as code review, geotech and utility availability letters Help prepare preliminary project estimates and schedules for new project submittals Coordinate plan submittals and work with the assigned architects and civil engineers Walk buildings and prepare construction punch lists for building delivery to property management team Handle warranty items In addition to responsibilities above, manage one project from commencement of construction activities through completion with the oversight of your leader



Skills for Success:



Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field Ideally looking for 2 years of prior experience in similar role Desire to travel frequently (typical travel would be overnight one to two nights of a week, three weeks a month)

A Brief Overview
Plans, organizes, manages and is responsible for all document control and distribution processes and systems for the Planning, Design & Construction (PD&C) Department, including all construction project-related documentation received from and sent to the contractor, architect, and internal staff from initial planning and early development of a project through its completion.

What you will do

Meets regularly with all the parties involved to stay abreast of and track the status of construction projects at all stages. Prepares meeting agendas as needed and records and distributes minutes summarizing matters discussed and actions approved. Scan, distribute, and file documents including (but not limited to) project designs, drawings, specifications, estimates, and correspondence to the appropriate archival repository. Verify and correct project-related documentation where needed. Ensures that document control and distribution systems, processes, and procedures are organized, accurate, clear, and complete. Maintains effective and on-going communications with construction and contractor management teams. Provides initial review of pay applications, change orders, and other incoming construction documents. Performs other project engineering and project management-related duties as well as incidental duties as needed or assigned.



Education Qualifications


Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university. Required Degree in a work-related discipline/field (Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management) Preferred



Experience Qualifications


3+ years to 5 years of related experience in construction, design, or construction management Required



Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities


Knowledge of and ability to use project management tools. Knowledge of CAD system, CAFM, estimating, cost control, scheduling, construction administration, quality control, and specific writing and place planning. Knowledge of technical and professional requirements in the fields of healthcare delivery, architecture, and the building design process, and construction. Knowledge of project management, accounting, construction design, construction methods, building materials, sustainability, mechanical and electrical construction, cost estimation, building codes and standards, and contract administration. Knowledge of OSHPD forms, applications, fees, permits, test, and inspection forms. Knowledge of RFI, PCO, submittal, and invoicing processes. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite business software applications. Ability to organize and complete project documentation. Ability to read drawings and schematics. Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and complete work within deadlines ensuring accuracy and attention to detail at each step. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with and gain the cooperation of others at all levels, both within and outside SHC.
