COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Core Responsibilities
The ConstructionProjectEngineer will be supported by a team of construction experts. The ConstructionProjectEngineer typically reports to the Project Manager and may be in direct report relation to the Construction Superintendent (project dependent) and works closely with company Executives.

A breakdown of day-to-day activities
Review, analyze, and resolve design and construction problems and discrepancies
Interact with client representatives, A/E representatives, and contractors as required
Insure all projectengineering activities comply with the schedule and contract requirements
Provide technical support to determine the most cost-effective and schedule efficient methods for construction
Manage engineering procedures and other document control functions
Track and maintain material procurement
Maintain design documents to stay current with on-site construction
Assist with schedule maintenance, monitoring for adherence, and advisement of potential schedule problems

Represent company as required in all client, A/E, and contractor meetings

A strong candidate has the following skills and qualifications
4-year engineering or construction degree or equivalent training and experience

The ProjectEngineer is responsible for all plans and specifications, development of tracking logs, shop drawings, RFIs, POs, proposals, RFQs and other job specific documentation. They will also maintain cost tracking databases, establish project scopes and bid set specs and solicit bids for all trades. PE will also monitor any scope changes for compliance and pricing, process all field change orders, RFPs and RFIs. As part of Close-out will track checklist, collect all operations manuals and prepare and submit as-built drawings.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· When in field, responsible to support project safety policies and report safety information and violations to the Project Superintendent.
· Develop and/or review tracking logs for accuracy and to monitor for job trends, as required.
· Alert Project Manager regarding project progress and issues.
· Participates in weekly progress meeting and develops and/or review/correct meeting minutes and attachments.
· If OFSC, Assist Project Administrator with the placement of progress photos on the website.
· Assist Project Manager in the review and analysis of all pre-construction design phase submittals, as directed by Project Manager.
· Ensure that all work products are properly scanned into Prolog System and filed appropriately.
· Maintain shop drawings, RFIs, POs, proposals, RFQs, and other job specific documentation.

· In coordination with Project Manager and/or Scheduler, collect and negotiate cost from Contractors and load (data entry) cost into project schedules.
· Update project progress schedule at least once per month.
· Assist Project Manager in establishing and preparing project work scopes by using meeting notes to compile the first draft of the report.
· Provide necessary information and coordinate with Project Administrator for the preparation of bid set specifications.
· Solicit potential bidders for all trade areas to assure a sufficient number of bidders, as needed.
· Document all pre-bid and pre-award meetings as needed, may be completed with Project Administrator if applicable
· Work with Project Manager to develop solid recommendations for bid awards
· Reviews (abstracts) all bids for consistency with bid documents and project needs.
· Once Superintendents have reviewed contract issues, the ProjectEngineer interprets the documents and coordinates possible resolution with the Project Manager to issues related to the project drawings and specification, and other project related needs. (If OSFC job include OFSC policies and procedures).
· Review for compliance with project contract documents, if compliance recommends approval to Project Manager and process all fieldwork change orders, requests for proposal, and request for information, as directed by the Project Manager.
· Audit all contract pricing for accuracy and documentation compliance, with appropriate mark ups. Auditing must include a cross check of pricing with contract provided project estimates, estimating guides and any available internal resources. Make recommendations to Project Manager for appropriate action.
· Track and maintain contractor closeout checklist for submitted items.
· Assist Superintendent with scheduling the life safety inspections for building occupancy, as needed.
· Prepare and distribute project closeout packets to prime and/or sub-contractors
· Collect operations, maintenance manuals, and other close out documents as required by the contract, which are to be turned over to Owner.
· Prepare and submit as-built drawings for completeness, forward to architect for review and verification to the compliance of the contract documents.
· Assist Superintendent in scheduling the orientation/training meetings are provided to the owner regarding equipment utilization, as needed.
· Assist Project Manager in processing the final change orders to finalize contract, review final pay-applications for proper waivers and verify closeout activities are fulfilled.
· Assist the Project Manager in coordinating the delivery of required attic stock to Owner.
· Assist the Project Manager in coordinating the keying and move-in for turnover to the Owner.
· Assist the Project Manager in securing the occupancy certificate.
· Participate in the development of the job schedule under the direction of the Scheduler.
· Update schedule as required
· Provide perspective bidders with all information necessary to ensure a quality bidding process and support architect with the development of addenda(s) as needed.
