You will be supporting a broad variety of construction within Heavy Civil infrastructure that include heavy earthwork and may include excavation, grading, cut and fill, asphalt, concrete forming, deep uilitites, piping, storm sewer/drainage systems. You will function as a field supervisor and may have responsibility for multiple Foreman, and/or laborers/craft workers. You with be responsible for the organization, work methods, scheduling, cost control, conformity with drawings and specification, workmanship, and assignment of work to accomplish the execution of the work, either directly or through General Foreman or Foreman. You will also work to maintain positive working relationships with clients, architect/engineer, suppliers, subcontractors, and jobsite staff.

District Overview
Kiewit's Central District is one of our largest infrastructure districts specializing in heavy civil, structural concrete/bridge, water/wastewater, and transportation projects. We self-perform work such as mass grading, drainage, paving, utility and more - so be ready to get your hands dirty! While headquartered in Denver, Colorado, the majority of our work is concentrated in the Central and South-Central regions of the United States. We are looking for people committed to the construction industry rather than design.
Location
Located in Denver, CO, our projects span the Central region of the United States, including states such as Colorado, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Kentucky, and Tennessee. We offer excellent per diems, and trips home.
Responsibilities
* Provide comprehensive supervisory direction to craft workers through general foremen and foremen, ensuring effective management of productivity, safety, quality, and adherence to schedules.
* Act as a liaison between field engineering and craft, guaranteeing compliance with construction drawings and specifications throughout the project lifecycle.
* Collaborate effectively with fellow superintendents and subcontractors, ensuring seamless communication and project execution with Kiewit staff and leadership.
* Address and resolve employee conflicts and grievances, notifying project and corporate management as necessary.
* Assist in strategic schedule planning and resource allocation, determining craft labor levels and material requirements for optimal project performance.
* Uphold and enforce project rules and safety protocols consistently, ensuring compliance with workplace standards and company policies.
Additional responsibilities:
* Mentor and help to grow Jr. Superintendents
* Review and approve the balance of Foremen, journeymen and laborer's composite labor rates
* Manage contract administration (subcontractor/field management meeting for communication)
* Develop a program to maintain good client relations involving staff on site
* Initiate and attend supplementary and regular meeting with client for problem resolution and planning
* Oversee and approve the monthly job cost updates and quarterly cash flow projections
* Review, approve and negotiate change orders
* Develop and implement a plan for project completion and turnover
* Maintain daily diary for record keeping purposes
* Ensure that all performance evaluations and completed in a timely fashion for direct reports
* Recommend, where appropriate, organizational, policy and procedural or staff changes
* Review and approve or reject promotions up to General Foremen.
Qualifications
* Minimum of 15 years' experience in the self-perform construction industry, including at least 10 years in a supervisory capacity managing heavy civil self-perform construction, executing responsibilties as outlined above.
* Demonstrated experience in a heavy civil construction environment is essential.
* Comprehensive understanding of various construction disciplines, including union regulations, safety protocols, scheduling, cost control, and engineering documentation.
* Proven ability to supervise and evaluate craft performance effectively, fostering a culture of excellence.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Responsible for directing the day to day activities for specific projects. Will provide management, analytical and administrative support. Manage subcontractors, and paving crews. Coordinate with general contractors, governmental agencies to provide timely completion of projects. Coordinate with appropriate Sales and Operations personal to ensure timeliness of materials. Responsible for scheduling work and to complete projects on time, on budget and developing, monitoring and executing the project plan and schedule with the project manager/estimator. WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

Ensures that time and attendance for assigned employees is recorded accurately. Manages subordinate personnel in the various operations of processing product.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Required Education: Bachelors/Undergraduate Degree OR 3-5 yrs. similar experience

Required Work Experience: 3 or more years leading civil construction crews. 5 years of hands on field
experience in civil construction
