    I am currently working with a succesful GC who specializes in design/build services and operates on a nationwide basis specifically on self storage facilities. They are looking for a key on site leader responsible for the safe, timely, and high-quality execution of ground-up, multi-story, and/or conversion self-storage construction projects across Florida and the Southeast region. Key Duties: Serve as the GC's primary representative on the job site, overseeing all daily construction activities for self-storage facilities (e.g., tilt-wall, metal-frame, multi-story buildings). Develop, maintain, and drive the 3-week look-ahead schedule. Coordinate all trades, deliveries, and inspections to ensure project milestones are met on time and within the original schedule. Direct, supervise, and coordinate all subcontractor activities. Lead weekly subcontractor meetings, manage conflict resolution, and ensure adherence to scope of work, quality standards, and schedule commitments. Oversee site logistics, material staging, and inventory control. Coordinate and confirm the timely delivery of key materials, specifically self-storage door and partition systems. Consistently inspect work in progress to ensure strict compliance with construction documents (plans, specifications), building codes, and industry best practices specific to self-storage design and construction. Implement and strictly enforce the company's comprehensive safety program. Conduct daily safety huddles/toolbox talks, weekly safety inspections, and ensure 100% OSHA and job-site-specific compliance. Proactively coordinate and manage all municipal and third-party inspections, resolving any issues promptly to prevent project delays. Prepare and submit accurate and comprehensive daily reports (Daily Logs) detailing work performed, labor hours, site visitors, equipment on site, safety issues, and weather conditions. Track and manage all project documentation, including RFIs (Requests for Information), submittals, and field change directives (FCDs), working in conjunction with the Project Manager. Maintain positive, professional, and effective communication with the Project Manager, owners, architects, engineers, and local regulatory officials. Monitor labor and material usage, identify potential cost overruns, and assist the Project Manager with change order processes and back charges as necessary. Requirements: Minimum of 5-7 years of commercial construction experience, with at least 3 years as a lead Superintendent managing ground-up self-storage or similar light industrial/retail projects. Ability and willingness to travel extensively (up to 75-100%) throughout Florida and the Southeast region, staying on location for the duration of assigned projects. Deep understanding of all construction phases, including site work, utilities, concrete, structural erection (metal and/or tilt-wall), and self-storage interior installation.
