Responsibilities
* Champion and enforce safety and OSHA standards for all onsite personnel.

* Maintain site logistics, traffic control, housekeeping, and environmental controls in compliance with permits and standards.

* Plan and coordinate all project activity, including subcontractors, suppliers, equipment, and resources.
* Lead and document weekly trade coordination meetings and manage onsite activities.
* Provide accurate project updates and coordinate with the Project Manager to update master schedules.
* Direct daily activities of subcontractors and vendors, ensuring compliance with project standards.
* Walk the project regularly to ensure compliance with construction standards and contract documents.
* Coordinate inspections, testing, and manage punch lists to ensure project completion.
* Document daily logs, including weather, manpower, deliveries, and progress photos.
* Manage cranes, lifts, and verify certifications and lift plans.
* Support project completion, warranty, and demobilization activities.
* Lead daily huddles and weekly subcontractor meetings, track commitments, and coordinate with architects and engineers to resolve design issues.
* Partner with project stakeholders to ensure timely project completion.
Essential Skills
* 7+ years of commercial construction field leadership as a Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent.
* Proficiency with Procore and Microsoft Project concepts.
* Ability to plan work, drive schedules, and coordinate multiple trades.
* Strong blueprint/specification reading skills and understanding of building systems.
* Commitment to safety with OSHA-30 certification or ability to obtain, and First Aid/CPR.
* Excellent communication, documentation, and conflict-resolution skills.

Construction superintendent job in Bayou La Batre, AL
THOR Solutions is looking for a highly motivated Ship Construction Project Manager to support the management and support of services for the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Waterways Commerce Cutter (WCC) Project Resident Office (PRO), located at Bayou La Batre, AL.
Typical Responsibilities:
Provide for the daily administrative needs to execute WCC production contract oversight to include documentation and administrative support in the areas of communications, documentation capture, writing, task tracking, briefings, and meeting support.
Develop and generate PowerPoint presentations, emails, documents, white papers, spreadsheets, graphs, program documentation, and record meeting notes and action items.
Obtain and present information and prepare a variety of recurring and special reports.
Provide input and editing to routine and non-routine reports.
Prepare executive and staff level correspondence and non-technical reports; maintain logs and records on incoming correspondence and follow up to ensure timely action; review outgoing correspondence to ensure material is compliant with WCC PRO policies.
Monitor the WCC production contractor's Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), using Primavera, for consistency and accuracy on a weekly basis and report to the WCC PRO new discrepancies and monitor existing discrepancies.
Maintain the WCC PRO IMS to document internal recurring events and milestones related to WCC PRO operations and incorporate updates to the WCC PRO IMS on a bi-monthly basis or as needed.
Location: Primarily onsite at Horizon Shipbuilding, 13980 Shell Belt Rd, Bayou La Batre, AL 36509. May be some limited “local remote”/telework flexibility, based on contract & customer requirements.
Typical Physical Requirements: Desk/computer work in an office environment. May involve: repetitive motion. Periodic visits to waterfront/shipboard environments. May involve: traversing shipboard environments (e.g., confined spaces, ladders, hatches) or vision.
Eligibility for a SECRET Security Clearance is Required: This position requires eligibility for a Secret security clearance, to be obtained after hire. Only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance; therefore, only current U.S. citizens will be considered for this position.
Typical Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Bachelor's Degree in a business or technical discipline.
At least five (5) years of relevant experience gained in Navy, Coast Guard, or commercial shipyards and ship construction environments.
Including at least four (4) years of experience in project management roles.
Strong understanding of ship design and construction processes.
Knowledge of standard processing procedures, formats, distribution for correspondence, presentations and reports produced.
Proficiency with Primavera.
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 software suite, including but not limited to, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Project, and Excel.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
