The Superintendent will perform the day-to-day team leadership and oversight for all project-specific requirements from mobilization to close out of commercial jobs assigned. This high- performance individual will assume overall responsibility for the successful completion of assigned projects within allotted time and budget. CS will be responsible for the active coordination of all Subcontractors work efforts, Vendors/materials, scheduling, and budgets during the mobilization, construction, and closeout phases of assigned projects. The CS‘s top priority is field coordination, working closely with Subcontractors to ensure that they are always focused on quality and workmanship while meeting/exceeding industry standards within the parameters of the project's schedule and budget. Daily direction and coordination of the Project by the CS ensures work is carried out safely, correctly, within budget, and on schedule.
The CS will plan procedures for construction, ensuring start and finish times, safety, quality, and staffing/subcontractor requirements for each phase of the project are met. CS will coordinate materials procurement (through PM) and schedule/confirm all deliveries to conform to work schedules. CS will confirm and oversee all City inspections while being familiar with local building code enforcement and inspectors and resolving conflicts or issues throughout the project.
CS must exhibit sound and accurate judgment, inspect work throughout the project's progress to ensure that workmanship and materials conform to plan and work letter specifications. CS must adhere to construction schedules, track job costs, and notify PM's to complete back-charges, if any. CS will work through Client and Subcontractor Change Order [CO] requests by completing field CO forms, requesting and processing pricing from Subcontractors, and submitting draft CO for PM to review, approve, and submit to Client. CS must prepare and submit daily reports on progress, materials used, punch lists, pictures, and schedule adjustments - before leaving the job site each day.

Conflicts or revisions tothe plan shall be communicated with the project team (i.e., superiors, architect, engineer,consultant, owner) for mutual resolution prior to execution of work that deviates from theapproved plans. The Project Superintendent does not have authorization to engage in monetary agreements (subcontracts, change orders, work authorizations). Position Overview:
We're seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to join our Field Operations team. In this role, you'll oversee all daily job site operations, including the supervision of subcontractors, coordination of work activities, and enforcement of safety and quality standards.
You will ensure all construction work is delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in alignment with the project's scope and our company's Mission, Vision, and Values.
Note: Priority will be given to candidates local to project sites, though relocation may be required.
Responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day field operations, ensuring work meets RFPs, plans, specs, and proposal documents
Direct and coordinate the efforts of employees and subcontractors on-site
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards
Manage schedule, budget, and materials to keep projects on track
Foster a collaborative, safety-conscious work environment
Act as a liaison between field crews, clients, and office/project management teams
Qualifications:
Minimum: High school diploma or GED
Preferred:
College coursework or degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field

Required:
5+ years as a Superintendent on mid-size commercial projects
4+ years (or equivalent) of field/trade experience in the construction industry

Perform construction and project management administration functions, handling a variety of actions and problems relating to assigned projects. Report project fund status reports, reviews of billing procedures and contractual requirement submittals.
Assist with project design reviews to accomplish contractual objectives and provide direction and support to subcontractors, support staff, trades and crafts.
Monitor requirements necessary to obtain progress payments, quantity options, government-furnished property, etc. and/or administers specific phases of complex contracts.
Responsible for the development of agendas for weekly and both pre-and post-job conferences.
Perform desktop publishing. Creates and assists in the development of visual presentations for the section.
Prepare worksheets for cost accounting by analyzing blueprints, plans, and related customer documents. This position will also be consulting with engineering staff and other technical personnel as required.
Responsible for assisting Site Manager / Project Manager with budgets for assigned projects.
Responsible for keeping up with current government regulations and commercial trends. Monitors project compliance requirements to ensure compliance with Service Contract Act, Davis Bacon Act and other Federal regulations as required.
Maintain customer relations through communication both face to face, and digital. Professional appearance is desirable.
The ability to perform remedial tasks using basic computer software like scheduling, updating reports, and email.
Responsible for scheduling work and maintaining schedule.

Education, Experience and Certification:

Required: Experience with US Corps of Engineers, government contracting, general construction experience (medical repairs and renewal) in healthcare facilities

Financial Responsibilities:
The role plays a part in the financial management of a task order budget and its corresponding parts. The role must assist in ensuring the partnering subcontractors perform all contractual responsibilities within or under budget based on firm fixed contract pricing. Actions performed by this role definitively impact the revenue of the duration of task order.

Our search is currently limited to qualified candidates living within the Hampton Roads commuting area.
SUMMARY:
This position requires the candidate to be solely responsible for and held accountable for the timely completion of the project and ensuring that the project is constructed in strict accordance with plans, specifications, and local codes. Provide on-site coordination for all phases of construction projects, including coordinating subcontractors, material, and equipment, ensuring that specifications are being strictly followed, and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget. Superintendent shall be responsible for scheduling, inspections, quality control, and job site safety. Valid drivers license and decent driving record. OSHA 30/CPR-First Aid/USACE CQM Certifications all preferred but willing to train.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES OF SUPERINTENDENT:
Schedule subcontractors, consultants, and vendors in critical path to ensure timely completion.
Perform quality control duties and responsibilities regarding the work being performed.
Communicate with project team regarding RFIs, Potential COs and Material Submittals.
Ensure that subcontractor is fully executing and complying with his contracted scope of work.
Coordinate required inspections with local jurisdictions.
Identify subcontractor non-compliance with safety, health, and environmental quality standards.
Identify conflicts in construction progress and communicate them to project team for resolution.
Maintain daily log (written) of activities on the jobsite.
Perform Superintendent duties at multiple job sites, simultaneously.
Ensure subcontractor has corrected all deficiencies identified by project team.
Walk all units on project daily to monitor activities and assist in future planning.
Preside over weekly subcontractor meetings designed to coordinate the work.
Issue notices of non-compliance to subcontractors in regard to quality of work or scheduling.
Ensure that the job site is always kept in a clean and organized manner.
Perform job progress and completion punch list identification and completion.
Assist in budgeting and award of subcontracts, if needed.
Assist in obtaining permits or approval of revisions.
Gather project material submittals and maintain records of approvals at the job-site.
Identify areas of work that are outside of subcontracted scope.
Preside at pre-construction meeting with each subcontractor.
Opening the jobsite at beginning of the day and securing the jobsite at the end of the day.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 3 years of verifiable industry experience, preferably in general contracting

Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project & Outlook) is preferred.
