The primary duties of the General Laborer are to safely assist crews with various types of construction projects. Projects range from performance contracting, energy efficiency retrofit, and backup/supplemental power distribution generator equipment emplacement. The General Laborer will be responsible for the safety and wellbeing of his/her crew members along with the timely completion of each project they are assigned. Laborers need to have the ability to communicate with residents and members of the public in a courteous and respectful manner. The Construction Ground Helper plays a vital role in supporting construction crews by performing a variety of manual labor tasks on-site. This position is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment, assisting skilled workers, and ensuring that tools, equipment, and materials are readily available. The Ground Helper contributes to the successful completion of construction projects by providing hands-on support to team members. Responsibilities Assist construction crews with basic tasks, including loading and unloading materials. Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free job site. Transport tools, equipment, and materials to appropriate locations. Operate hand tools and basic power tools under supervision. Support skilled trades (e.g., carpenters, masons, electricians) as directed. Set up and dismantle temporary structures, scaffolding, and barricades. Follow safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). Report any unsafe conditions or equipment issues to the supervisor. Perform other related duties as assigned by the site supervisor or foreman. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (preferred, not required). Previous construction or labor experience a plus, but not necessary-will train. Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical labor in various weather conditions. Basic understanding of construction tools and equipment. Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn. Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team. Commitment to workplace safety. Working Conditions Outdoor work environment, often exposed to heat, cold, rain, and dust. Physical labor including standing, bending, lifting, and carrying for extended periods. Standard work hours with possible overtime, weekends, and evenings depending on project needs.

Responsibilities: Maintain a clean and safe work site by cleaning work areas, machines, and equipment. Perform inspections on tools and equipment to ensure they are in proper, safe working order. Perform maintenance as needed. Construction and installation of concrete forms and bracing materials. Pour and finish concrete. Ability to measure and cut materials to required size for installation. Ability to install framing, wall covering materials including installation and finishing of sheetrock, and finishing trim work. Ability to determine paint types and apply per specifications, including brush and roller applications with minor spraying abilities. Qualifications: Familiarity with common construction trade tools, including use, safety standards, and maintenance. Heavy Equipment operating experience a plus (Skid, Trackhoe, and Backhoe). Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted. Light mechanical experience a plus. Proficiency in using finishing tools and equipment. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Excellent attention to detail and quality control. Ability to interpret and follow technical plans and specifications. Must be able to read and communicate in English to understand technical documents, safety procedures, and instructions relevant to job duties.
