About this Role
FiberTel is looking for Travel CDL ConstructionWorker/Laborers for our Portland location. This is a travel position with job sites in OR, WA, and ID.
In this role, you will support all phases of utility construction for various types of telecom projects. Duties will include general labor duties related to telecommunications construction as directed by the Foreman/Supervisor.
Services may include placing poles, anchors, aerial strand and cable, direct buried pipe, trenching cable, conventional and directional boring, placing underground conduit systems, performing inside wiring, cabling, and testing and maintenance services.
Pay: $20-27/hr, + Daily Per Diem + Travel accommodations.
What You'll Do
Responsibilities:
Hand dig using a shovel, mechanical tools.
Installation and maintenance of underground telecommunications cabling.
Operate or work around heavy equipment and machinery.
Working in congested or remote areas.
Maintain visual and audible contact with other crewman and all moving or stationary persons/vehicles/objects to ensure safe coordination of movement.
Perform general construction work under the direction of the Foreman/Supervisor.
Maintain safe working habits/conditions according to all regulations, procedures, and policies.
Learn all aspects of crew and assist the operator and foreman as assigned.
Set up, preparation, and cleanup of construction sites.
Develop an understanding of buried utilities

What You'll Bring
Qualifications:
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Possess a valid driver's license or be eligible and willing to obtain the required license for the position.
A good driving record is required.
Basic knowledge of and ability to operate various types of utility trucks and equipment in a safe manner.
Basic knowledge of and ability to use hand tools and equipment in a safe manner.
Class A Commercial Driver's License is a plus (Higher wage scales apply to CDL holders).

Working Conditions:
This is a full-time hourly position, expected to work at least 40 hours per week. This position operates in an outdoor environment and is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions including extreme cold, rain, sleet, snow, humidity, high temperatures, and high wind. The outside work environment will vary throughout the day, including changes in terrain, traffic, urban settings, and/or rural settings. This position may occasionally be exposed to natural gas and to the risk of electrical shock. Exposure to moderate to loud noise levels.
Physical Requirements:
The employee will need to have the ability to stand for long periods of time (up to 12 hours at a time), tolerate work in extreme weather conditions, speak and hear worksite safety instructions, withstand prolonged and repeated lifting, standing, climbing, kneeling, reaching and feeling, crouching, and crawling. The employee will need to be able to regularly lift 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

What you'll be contributing:
* Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines

* Performs emergency railroad track repairs, which occasionally requires the repetitive pounding of a sledgehammer weighing up to 16 pounds. Cleans railroad hopper and box cars, which includes lifting top loading doors weighing up to 75 pounds.
* Cleans building roofs and removes snow when necessary. Occasionally cleans drain ditches and catch basins. Uses shovels and an air lance to perform these duties.
* Assists in screening grinding balls and recharging mill grinding ball load.
* Performs janitorial and ground keeping duties which include but are not limited to: changing air conditioner filters, mowing, weeding, fertilizing, watering and trimming

Augment Human Resource Services is now hiring a General Laborer to support day-to-day cleaning and maintenance at a busy waste and recycling facility. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, staying active, and being part of a hardworking team.
You'll be placed on-site at one of our national clients, helping maintain a clean, safe, and organized yard and operations area.
What You'll Do
As a General Laborer, you'll assist with keeping the site clean, organized, and free of debris while supporting equipment operators, mechanics, and supervisors with various tasks as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Clean up debris, trash, and loose materials around the yard, shop, and work areas.
Assist with pressure washing, sweeping, and general cleaning of buildings, pads, and containers.
Organize tools, equipment, and parts in the yard or shop area.
Support small maintenance tasks such as painting, organizing parts, or preparing containers.
Perform minor landscaping or grounds maintenance duties.
Help direct trucks or equipment traffic when needed.
Follow all site safety procedures and wear proper PPE at all times.
Report any safety concerns or hazards to site supervisors immediately.
Perform other duties as assigned to support daily operations.
Qualifications
What We're Looking For
Experience: Prior experience in general labor, sanitation, construction, or warehouse work is helpful but not required.
Skills:
Ability to follow verbal instructions and work independently or in a team.
Willingness to perform physically demanding tasks outdoors.
Reliable, punctual, and safety-minded.
Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years old.
Must pass a background check and drug screening.
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Work Environment
Outdoor and industrial setting - expect exposure to dirt, dust, noise, and varying weather.

What you will be doing
Receives and prints packing order from computer and determines that correct packing materials are available at packing station.
Cuts wood on saw to use for packing or banding.
With assistance of a co-worker for long extrusions, lift metal from rack to packing cart and use prescribed material to hand pack bundles per customer specifications.
Maintains ID for all racks and bundles in process.
Loads metal onto conveyor belt to go through auto wrapper.
Visually inspects ends, cut length and material to ensure accuracy and quality prior to packing.
Keeps record of items packed and records on Oracle job and Suffix letter with last item packed.
Ensures that finished material leaves area properly packaged and marked.
Notifies Lead Person of potential problems with pack patterns.

Ability to accurately read a tape measure.
Excellent punctuality and attendance record.
Interpersonal skills: Team player, organized, self-starter, adaptable to change, results-oriented, and able to work with limited supervision
