What you'll be contributing:
* Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines
* Performs general clean-up duties using a shovel, broom, chipping hammer, pavement breaker, concrete saw, Waldon front-end loader, Bobcat loader and motorized sweepers, hi-vac vacuum truck.
* Assists in removing and installing refractory lining in the kiln, preheat tower, coolers and other related plant equipment. Also assists with concrete pours, mixing and pouring special castibles, which may require lifting sacks weighing a minimum of 30 pounds.
* Performs cleaning of plant equipment including but not limited to the following: Unplugging chutes and silo feeder, cleaning the inside of dust collectors and tower cyclones using water and air hoses, unplugging preheat tower vessels, feed pipes, conveyor drags, augers, belt conveyors and troughing rolls
* Performs emergency railroad track repairs, which occasionally requires the repetitive pounding of a sledgehammer weighing up to 16 pounds. Cleans railroad hopper and box cars, which includes lifting top loading doors weighing up to 75 pounds.
* Cleans building roofs and removes snow when necessary. Occasionally cleans drain ditches and catch basins. Uses shovels and an air lance to perform these duties.
* Assists in screening grinding balls and recharging mill grinding ball load.
* Performs janitorial and ground keeping duties which include but are not limited to: changing air conditioner filters, mowing, weeding, fertilizing, watering and trimming
* Performs vacation relief, fills other positions as needed and performs other duties as assigned by the Shift Supervisor or Production Manager
* Observes all safety rules and keeps work areas clean.

What to expect in a cement environment:

Exposure to all weather conditions. Normal operation of mobile equipment may result in jarring and vibratory exposure.

You will work a Monday - Friday schedule.
You will be responsible for performing various construction tasks, load and unload materials, and follow directions from supervisors and other skilled tradesmen. To do well in this role you should be physically fit, reliable, and be a hard worker.
Responsibilities include:
Operate and care for construction equipment and tools.

Job Duties:
- Conducts on-site inspections of construction, rehabilitation, and maintenance projects as well as related civil structures (roads, dams, bridges, facilities, utilities, etc.) to verify compliance with approved design specifications, industry standards, safety codes, and applicable federal regulations.
- Documents inspection results inclusive of deficiencies, deterioration, structural condition, deviations between design and execution of construction, required corrective actions and any needed sampling.
- Review contractor submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, and material certifications in coordination with engineers and project management teams.
- Monitors construction progress, prepares and maintains detailed daily reports, deficiency notices, project status reports, and technical recommendations.
