Roles and Responsibilities: Assist crew leader in construction/ reconstruction and maintenance work Assist equipment operators, swamping, hand digging, locating underground obstructions Work with specialized equipment including jackhammers, rotary drills, power actuated fasteners and other necessary tools Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials  Work safely around backhoes, excavators, trenchers and dump truck Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards Complete duties as assigned Success Factors: Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods, often under adverse climatic conditions.  Ability to lift up to 80 lbs multiple times during a work shift Ability to climb, dig, work in tight spaces, on uneven surfaces, walking, stooping, and kneeling Ability to understand and follow specific oral and written instructions Ability to work well independently and as a part of a team with co-workers Ability to pass motor vehicle, criminal background check, and comply with drug-free workplace policy English usage sufficient to keep records, place orders, and prepare simple narrative reports  Willingness and ability to learn additional skills Experience and Education: High school diploma or equivalent desired Experience working with underground utilities desired CDL A is a plus  Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications: Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Residence Driver's License is required within two weeks of employment. Responsibilities: Assist with underground utility installation, including trench prep, pipe handling, backfilling, and bedding material placement. Support site development crews with grading, excavation prep, debris removal, and material handling. Spot equipment, direct trucks, and maintain safe zones around heavy machinery. Use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, tampers, and compactors to prepare and maintain work areas. Install erosion control, silt fencing, or other environmental protections as needed. Help with job site setup, traffic control, cleanup, and organization of materials and supplies. Follow all OSHA and company safety protocols, including trenching, confined-space, and PPE requirements. Communicate effectively with foremen, operators, and crew members to keep projects moving efficiently. Perform other general labor tasks to support production and ensure a safe job site. Requirements: Ability to pass a drug screen and criminal background check. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
