Transferring technical knowledge and skills for designing and building rules from business requirements BACKGROUND INFORMATION The ProSidian Client is utilizing IBM z990 2084 and IBM z10 2094 mainframe systems at the Data Centers located in Maryland and North Carolina. The mainframe operating system will be z/OS 1.9 or higher. The majority of the agency's Web Applications are running on IBM's WebSphere Application server (WAS) 6.1 and 7 for z/OS. There are also Web Applications running under IBM's WebSphere Application Server (WAS) 7 for SOLARIS. The agency has a large amount of legacy applications using CICS on the z/OS platform. The JBOSS software must be able to interact with the processing environments stated above. The ProSidian Client has a vast customer base (56 million beneficiaries, as of July 2006) and handles large volumes of data coupled with a huge (more than 75 million) number of transactions per day. Usage of the JBOSS software at The ProSidian Client is very limited at this time. Rules processing, planner and process management is a very small subset of the transactions we process today. The ProSidian Client's Office of Systems is planning to employ Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) concepts and practices for new application development in the near future. The Agency has identified a business rules management system, planner and business process management as important components of our SOA platform. JBOSS open source software is not new to the industry, however, this is new technology at The ProSidian Client and we expect our understanding and requirements to change as Agency adoption of this technology grows. The JBOSS suite of software was selected by the Agency to catalog, author and manage business and policy rules. If the Agency is to meet the long-term challenges identified in the Agency Strategic Plan, the rules developed will have to be managed electronically using the JBOSS software.     In this position, you will work closely with customers to help define geospatial-centric solutions and implementation of those solutions. You will solve complex geospatial problems by evaluating and translating the customer's business goals, objectives, and strategies. The contributions you make will support our Department of Defense customers across many industries. The work you do will enable customers to make meaningful decisions by leveraging location intelligence. The teams you will work with are collaborative and forward leaning. Esri has a Relocation Assistance Program and can provide support with relocating to the Vienna, VA area for this position. Responsibilities Work closely with customers and partners to identify, design, and certify key GIS workflows for the ArcGIS platform Provide platform configuration guidance and best practices to customers regarding innovative solutions using Esri technology and content to help them make better decisions Identify the value of location within customer workflows and drive substantial return on their investment in Esri's enterprise platform and services Recommend relevant strategies, architectures, and solutions and work with customers to prepare implementation and migration strategies Present complex GIS technical demonstrations to various levels of staff in a diverse range of customer organizations Collaborate with customer IT organizations to align their technical objectives and business goals with Esri's technology enterprise Requirements 5+ years of professional experience in a similar position, supporting similar responsibilities Professional experience designing, implementing, and/or administrating enterprise GIS solutions/systems that leverage the ArcGIS platform (Desktop, Server, and Online) Proven experience leveraging Esri's software capabilities including mapping, field operations, spatial analysis and data science, 3D visualization and analytics, data management, and developer APIs Pro-actively craft and propose solutions that clarify how GIS brings business value to address critical business challenges faced by customers, specifically in the Intelligence domain Proven experience with GIS workflow automation patterns Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas, whether to other technical peers or non-technical peers, project managers, and/or customers Exceptional interpersonal, written/verbal communication, multi-tasking, and presentation skills US citizenship and willingness and ability to maintain a US Security Clearance Bachelor's in geography, computer science, mathematics, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or STEM related field Recommended Qualifications Master's in geography, computer science, mathematics, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or STEM related field Programming and scripting experience with Python Domain experience around Defense and Intelligence content workflows Experience with current technology implementation patterns, including service-oriented and cloud computing architecture Understanding of IT integration concepts such as databases, web services, webhooks, mobile devices configurations, web browsers, IT system architecture concepts #LI-SS2 #LI-Onsite
