Manufacturer is seeking a Process Engineer to work in their engineering team. The Process Engineer will be responsible for overseeing an assigned area related to best practices, KPI improvements, plan execution and new technology industrialization. Responsibilities will include:
Supporting the company's best manufacturing initiatives as a team and by partnering with other sites
Monitoring and analysis of production numbers and KPIs
Identifying continuous improvement projects, overseeing 6-8 CI projects at a time, including managing project timelines
Completing the assigned area's capability and capacity analysis on a biannual basis
Assisting with new model activities and capital equipment projects
Developing and improving line layouts and making line modifications
Sharing and evaluating best practices with sister locations
Training associates on proper quality, production and engineering procedures
Conceptualizing and designing fixtures and gauges in 2D and 3D software
Partnering with quality to help determine root cause analysis of quality issues and establish countermeasures
Spending up to 50% of your time on the manufacturing floor, focused on engineering efforts
Other engineering tasks as assigned
This is a hands-on position that requires qualified candidates to be on the manufacturing floor up to 50% of their day. Candidates should be able to manage their own projects, be flexible with their work requirements, have good written and verbal communication and enjoy working within a team of energetic engineers. Individuals should have excellent floor communication skills and be able to effectively communicate with frontline associates.

REQUIREMENTS for the Process Engineer:
1. Bachelor's degree; preferred majors include mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering technologies, industrial technologies or manufacturing technologies

3. Experience performing engineering functions in manufacturing environments; highly automated environments with PLCs and robotics preferred
4. Experience focused on continuous improvement initiatives, including scrap reduction, efficiency improvement, elimination of downtime, etc.

8. Microsoft Office, specifically Excel

Responsible for technical supplier oversight regarding manufacturing and manufacturing development projects. The manufacturingengineer will provide consultation to NuScale design organizations regarding manufacturing, specify and collect product manufacturing requirements including all standards and specifications, and act as a primary point of contact between NuScale design organizations and manufacturing suppliers for technical information and communications. The manufacturingengineer will apply industry expertise, codes and standards, and regulatory guidance in the general area of primary nuclear reactor system manufacturing and supply chain development.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Interact daily with NuScale design organizations to interpret their needs and requirements to manufacturing entities.
Assists the NuScale design organizations by applying expert knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials.
Perform subcontract technical lead duties by preparing requirements documents and schedules, leading the technical aspects of assigned manufacturing and manufacturing development projects.
Review manufacturing documentation of supplier to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, standards, and QA/QC requirements.
Develop, check, or review internal drawings, studies, and specifications.
Review engineering deliverables applying in-depth knowledge to achieve goals and influence decision making.
Monitoring supplier performance to ensure compliance with procedures, applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications.
Manage supplier manufacturing mockup planning and test results to ensure desired outcomes are achieved.
Leading surveys of new manufacturing suppliers to assess capabilities and documenting survey results.
Perform/coordinate grading of technical proposals and working with Procurement team for supplier selection.
Assist Product Cost Management team with cost estimates and value engineering studies.
Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing manufacturing information and trends including statistical analysis of manufacturing trends.

MINIMUM SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES:

Experience: Minimum of eight years of engineering experience in development and oversight of manufacturing of ASME vessels and components is required. Manufacturing development for extremely complex designs, components, or systems in a regulated environment is required. Demonstrated project management skills along with strong technical writing skills and use of software including Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), navigation of CAD/CAM systems, and normal MS Office software is required.
Industry Requirements: Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.
Travel Requirements: Able to travel to local, national, and international suppliers using common forms of transportation. Anticipate 10%-20% travel. Position will require presence in supplier manufacturing shop environments and will require familiarity with shop safety requirements and working conditions.

The Role

Key Responsibilities
Serve as a primary technical interface with customers, supporting new business development and ongoing customer relationships.

Provide design-for-manufacturability (DFM/DFA) input during quotation and development phases.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering,ManufacturingEngineering, Materials Engineering, or a related engineering discipline (Master's degree preferred)
5-8 years of relevant engineering experience in manufacturing, applications engineering, product development, or customer-facing technical roles

Serve as liaison between production and engineering departments by developing and managing to implementation engineering change notices and process specifications pertaining to manufacturing processes and material specifications.
Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace. This includes ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations.
Identifies and implements manufacturing process changes in support of the plant's continuous improvement and productivity improvement objectives.
Assists with engineering analyses including but not limited to manufacturing simulations of new processes, make or buy, outsourcing, and line balancing.
Reviews project work from maintenance, automation/autoload technicians, and external contractors with appropriate follow up and ultimate accountability to successfully acceptance of the respective projects to production.
Review and sustain Total Preventative Maintenance Program (TPM). Coordinate with cross functional team to ensure TPM is up to date.
Review, provide feedback, and accountability on quality of TPM.
Enact and improve on TPM system and software.
Performs root cause analyses to determine causes of line defects and engages the appropriate organization to drive improvement in line yields.
Support and execute Lean Manufacturing efforts, i.e. develop SOP, TWI, and standard work for machine and process controls, RIE actions, 5S methodologies.
Manage and update site drawings, layouts P&IDs, and process flow diagrams.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience (engineering preferred)
5 to 10 years' experience with responsibility for manufacturing process support in a manufacturing environment.
Must be an adept and experienced problem solver who is able to determine root cause of technical issues and implements effective solutions in a timely manner.
Strong problem-solving skills with technical issues, determining root cause, and ability to implement timely solutions.
Proficiency with machine automation and electrical trouble shooting.
Experience working in a high volume 24/7 manufacturing environment, metal finishing experience preferred

This plant is a primary anodizing plant utilizing chemical processing for production and wastewater treatment. A Day in the Life:
No two days are ever the same in this role.
Tasks can include:
Training operators in proper process, tool usage, and tool maintenance.
Collaborating with other engineering teams on process efficiency, quality, and safety improvement projects.
Developing new designs using 3D modeling software like Solidworks for carts or production tools. Then work with the fab shops to complete the fabrication of them in a timely manner.
Work closely with contractors to coordinate utility needs such as air and electrical drops, and oversee the installation of new equipment.
Coordinate daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance tasks on machinery.
Troubleshoot machines whenever the team needs extra support.
Provide hands-on support to production lines as needed.

Qualifications
Required
1-3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment with exposure to metal stamping operations.
Working knowledge of stamping processes, tooling, and production floor workflows.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and basic GD&T.
Hands-on, floor-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
Strong communication skills and willingness to learn through direct production involvement.
Preferred
Associate or Bachelor's degree in ManufacturingEngineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
Exposure to tooling, dies, or press operations in a production environment.
Experience supporting continuous improvement or lean manufacturing initiatives.
Familiarity with ERP systems and basic manufacturing documentation.
Work Environment
Primarily production-floor focused with some office-based work.
Regular interaction with stamping presses, tooling areas, and manufacturing teams.
Minimal travel required.

The Kapton team is seeking a **Manufacturing Technology Engineer** at the Circleville,Ohio facility-30 miles south of Columbus, Ohio. This role will work with a diverse team of engineers, operators, and mechanics to provide technical expertise and strategic direction to improve our competitive advantage for the manufacturing of Kapton Polyimide Films. The Kapton facilities consist of polymer manufacturing, solvent distillation and extraction, film casting, and numerous converting operations such as coating, heat treatment, and slitting. The Circleville site has a wide variety of on-site engineering disciplines such as R&D and project engineering, in addition to the 30+ engineers in the Kapton Manufacturing Technology department.

The **Manufacturing Technology Engineer** role will work to upgrade processes and products that may range from incremental improvements to major technology changes. A primary focus is to improve process efficiency, quality, process safety, yield, plant capacity and Overall Equipment Effectiveness.
Responsibilities:
· Works with a small team (with operations specialists & production, reliability, & process control engineers) to prioritize, coordinate and execute efforts for the assets of responsibility, exhibiting strong interpersonal skills
· Identifies and works with technical personnel & operations to develop best practices for processes
· Provides technical oversight of ongoing production
· Enables and assists in the training of operators, mechanics and other technical team members to convey the "why" of the fundamentals
· Drives product-by-process through development and documentation of manufacturing standard process
· Designs process improvements (yield, quality, uptime, capacity release)
· Implements large programs and/or process improvements - Test Authorizations, Management of Change
· Leads troubleshooting and root cause failure analyses (RCFAs) for complex issues
· Utilizes Lean Manufacturing & Six Sigma methodology
· Responsible to ensure adequate basic data is created for CapEx projects and provides resourcing support (e.g. development and/or Plans for Commissioning, Decommissioning, Start-Up and Shut Down)
· Supports key PSM Technology Elements as needed (Process Technology, PHA, Management of Change-Technology)
· Supports the startup and qualification of new equipment
· Networks and leverages the broader organization (Leveraged Engineering Resources, Quality, R&D, Marketing, etc.)
Minimum qualifications:
· BS in Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering
Preferred qualifications:
· Web Handling technology experience
· 1+ Year Industrial plant experience working with PSM critical processes/systems
· Experience with control systems, PLCs, HMIs
· Demonstrated ability to apply technical knowledge to diagnose, troubleshoot, solve or help others solve equipment and/or process issues.
· Demonstrated knowledge of key PSM Technology elements such as Process Hazards Analysis, Process Technology, Management of Change-Technology, RAGAGEP among others
· Demonstrated ability to teach, coach, mentor, develop others, and work in a team-based environment
· Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize and manage multiple, complex, time-sensitive projects
· Demonstrated skill in team-building and achieving results through influence and negotiation
· Good interpersonal and communication skills; must work well in both self-managed and team environment
· Ability to access and network with appropriate site and corporate teams to gain or share knowledge
· Experience with Lean Manufacturing Principles
· Six Sigma / Green Belt Certified
· Experience with developing basic data, project execution, equipment startup & commissioning
