Georgia Eye Bank contractor/technician job description

This position is responsible for the safe recovery of donated ocular tissue (in situ corneal excisions and whole eye enucleations) utilizing sterile/aseptic technique. Recovery Technicians (RTs) must travel to recovery location and maintain communication with donor coordinator regarding case circumstances and unique observations.
1. Travel to location of donor (e.g. hospital, ME/Coroner office, funeral home)
2. Review and verification of legal authorization
3. Screen donors through review of available medical records/information
4. Assess eligibility of donors for recovery according to EBAA Medical Standards, FDA regulations and GEB Standard Operating Procedures
5. Identification of the donor (e.g. ID band, toe tag, morgue cooler label)
6. Perform and document detailed physical inspection
7. Always adhere to Standard Precautions during entire recovery process
8. Obtain adequate blood samples (pre and postmortem) that are eligible for infectious disease testing
9. Perform recovery (enucleations and in situ corneal excisions)
10. Collect vitreous for Coroners/MEs
11. Perform donor restoration
12. Perform all required documentation in a thorough, complete and professional manner
13. Package tissue, blood samples, and documentation appropriately for transportation to GEB laboratory
14. Ensure effective and positive communications are maintained with hospital staff, MEs/Coroners, tissue banks, OPO, and funeral homes
15. Attend required meetings and training sessions
Decision Making Authority:
• Follow all GEB SOPs as outlined in manuals, training documents and memos/e-mails from Recovery Services & Training Supervisor as well as Manager of Technical Operations
• Consult supervisor or SOC as needed
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
• HS Diploma or equivalency required
• Bachelor’s degree in science, RN, surgical tech or other healthcare professionals (EMT/Paramedics, ER techs, etc.) preferred
• Expertise, skills and knowledge of ophthalmology or eye bank procedures also preferred
• Valid drivers license and insured/safe motor vehicle
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities necessary to perform essential functions:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strict attention to detail
• If not previously acquired, expectation to establish and maintain good understanding of medical terminology
• Ability to learn and follow all GEB SOPs regarding donor recovery
• Compassionate demeanor when dealing with grieving families
• Ability to effectively multi-task
• Flexible work schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
• Must maintain confidentiality and integrity of all donor-related information and GEB business practices
• Dedication and commitment to eye banking and fulfilling the wishes of donors and their families
Physical/Environmental Demands of the Position:
1. Physical Activities – reaching, fingering, grasping, precision dexterity, feeling, talking, seeing, hearing, writing, driving and walking
2. Level of Physical Requirements – moderate work. Must be able to lift 50 lbs independently

Job purpose
BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as a Prototype Operations Contractor. The Prototype Operations Contractor will support manufacturing engineering with the following electronic assembly processes which includes printed circuit board assembly (PCBA), through-hole component insertion, soldering, final assembly, inspection, testing and quality control for building various automotive electronic products.

Key responsibilities
Support manufacturing engineers during prototype build activities Quality Control - Collect, analyse, and record processing data.Work from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, prints or defined plans to perform rework, check out and trouble-shooting functions.Support engineering activities such as PCB assembly and test, checkout, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototype assemblies, specialized test equipment. Support surface mount processes and equipment (ASM SX series placement equipment and DEK solder paste printing) Including machine setup and tear down. Repair and modify bare and assembled circuit boards using hand soldering techniques. Effective time management, communication, and multitasking skills.Hands on prototype building.Flexible working hours required to meet demanding engineering prototype delivery schedules.Operate specified assembly and test equipment Assist in preparing parts kits for proto builds Document and communicate assembly and test results Work in team environment

What we're looking for
Knowledge and experience with equipment operation - assembly/build including surface mount operations from set-up to tear down, In-circuit test, PCBA through hole, final assembly, adhesive dispense, selective solder, wave solder, test, packaging, and shipping.Equipment operation and build execution Desired 610-IPC standard certification for rework. Strong organizational, communication, and people skills are required to work with program management, engineering development, and process teams.

Winslow, Maine (04901)


DESCRIPTION:

The Avian Services Technician will provide general poultry husbandry (overall care) for the birds (chickens and turkeys) in the stock at the Winslow site.

This position will actively support activities related with the maintenance of the testing facilities, and the proper care and welfare of the birds at the testing facility.


Functions, Duties, Tasks:


  • Performing daily chores (providing feed and water to the birds) and cleaning such as cleaning pens, changing the bedding out, filling feeders etc.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the animal facilities, in a regulatory inspection condition at all times. Requires floor, walls, animal enclosures scrubbing, minor paint touch ups and other minor maintenance, and proper cleaning and disinfection procedures.
  • Provide appropriate care for the animals retained at the facilities, and maintaining/monitoring the proper environmental conditions (temperature, feed, water, etc.).
  • Maintain accurate records in accordance with USDA regulations and assists with updating related databases.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Other Information:

  • Must be able to lift about 50 pounds
  • Showering throughout the animal facilities is required
  • Comfortable wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including scrubs, steel toe boots and additional PPE as needed such as lab coats, Tyvek suits, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, bouffant.
  • Comfortable with walking to different on site areas and variable temperatures/inclement weather.
  • Ability to get to work during inclement weather.
  • Must have a valid drivers license and comfortable to drive a company vehicle (van/truck)


SPECIFIC JOB POSTING INFORMATION:

Candidates or workers who own birds at their personal property or have come in contact with birds within the last 48 hours are not permitted at the Winslow, Maine facility.

Candidates who come in regular contact with any kind of birds are ineligible for this assignment.


SHIFT:

7 am - 330 pm Monday through Friday with occasional weekend work

Also, hours could vary around Holidays.


EXPERIENCE:

  • Able to follow written and oral instructions


  • Must possess good documentation skills


Additional Preferences:

  • Previous experience in animal husbandry
  • Previous poultry animal care experience helpful.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency with business applications such as: Word, MS Office and Excel
  • Flexibility in adapting methods and skills.
  • Motivation to work independently, as well as in a cooperative manner, with supervisor.
