The Opportunity:
As a Contracts Specialist 2, you will collaborate with stakeholders inside and outside the DCYF to create agreements that meet organizational needs. Your role includes evaluating bids, negotiating contract terms, and ensuring fair costs. You will manage the contract lifecycle by facilitating signatures, overseeing terminations, and ensuring compliance with obligations while resolving any issues that arise with private entities. BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
Basic: A bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degrees.
OR
A current member of the Armed Forces (not retired or separated) OR a current DOD employee that meets the following requirements: 1) served as a contracting officer with authority to award or administer in excess of the simplified acquisition threshold on or before 30 September 2000; 2) served, on or before 30 September 2000, in a position as either an employee in the GS-1102 series or as a member of the Armed Forces in a similar occupation specialty; OR, (3) is in the contingency contracting force.
In addition to meeting the basic requirements, applicants must have specialized experience:

Requirements:
A Bachelor's Degree: A 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree conferred or approved by an accredited U.S. college or university based on a 4- year course of study. Simply being enrolled and working toward a degree does not meet the qualification standard. Proposed candidates must furnish transcripts showing completion of degree requirements to the Government for review.
At least five (5) years of documented experience in contracting positions. For each position, the Contractor shall provide the Government with the proposed candidate's resume for review and approval. We are looking for an expert in state and local government contracts to support our sales and business development efforts. MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Develops and implements work plans to ensure timely changes are made to the automated versions of the Provider Contract Booklet to meet amendment and other deadlines. Contracts with and coordinates with vendors to ensure timeframe and quality expectations are met for amendment mailing. Modifies, maintains and programs the publishing system databases and products. Develops plans for new design and/or conversion of existing documents to the Corporate Publishing System.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in business or systems related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. 5 years experience in use of large scale automated systems as well as desktop word processing, spreadsheet and database products required.
