Seeking a Controller that will lead a six-person accounting team in day-to-day accounting and finance operations, partnering with the senior leadership of the company and ensuring budget maintenance and cash flow excellence. The Controller will have bottom line accountability for the department, building, elevating and nurturing their team, and recommending or implementing new or best practices.
Some of the key essential duties of this role will focus on include:
* Cash management and oversight. Update and project 15-week cash flows.
* Plan, direct and coordinate all accounting operational functions.
* Oversee and prepare financial statements for multiple entities.
* Manage the budget process on a quarterly and annual basis
* Coordinate the activities of external auditors.
* Evaluate accounting and internal control systems.
* Assess current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes.
* Develop and monitor business performance metrics.
* Oversee regulatory reporting, including tax planning and compliance.
* Secure financing for all capital expenditures. Manage banking relations.
* Bottom-line responsibility for department operations.
Qualifications for this position include:
* BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or another business-related field.
* CPA/or MBA preferred.
* 5+ years of progressive accounting experience. Previous experience as a Controller preferred.
* Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, procedures and legislation.
* Hands-on experience with general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
* Good knowledge of accounting software; prior experience using Great Plains is a plus.
* Leadership skills including comfort with decision-making responsibilities, coaching, teaching and counseling. Ability to inspire and build confidence in others and forge alliances and garner support.
