Johnson Controls control specialist job description

We are seeking a Controls System Specialist / Integrator with a TS/SCI clearance or the ability to obtain one within one year to join our federal team supporting a new, exciting project at the Camp Humphrey’s U.S. military base in South Korea . This position will upgrade and maintain the control system in a high security command center on Camp Humphrey’s. This position requires a TS/SCI clearance so the successful candidate must be qualified to obtain a TS/SCI clearance within one year. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a very challenging yet rewarding military facility making a true contribution to our nation’s defenses. The technician will be expected to live in South Korea and will be provided with a housing and subsistence allowance.

As a Control System Specialist / Integrator , you will:
Under general direction, acts as the on-site project leader to plan, execute, and complete HVAC controls and metering projects with assigned customers in a safe and cost-effective manner Performs or delegates tasks as required to execute and fully complete assigned projects including; system programming, integration, installation coordination, system and network commissioning and project closeout Responsible for integrating Building Control Systems in to the UMCS to expand the system Utilizes contractor or customer standard programs for designing the graphic function blocks for assigned projects Responsible for checking out HVAC systems including point-to-point checks, determining the proper operating ranges for field devices, as well as complete functional system checkouts. As needed, conducts graphics engineering functions which include: creating equipment and floor plan graphics per project documents, creating GGT (Metasys) graphics submittal packages as required, reviewing graphics as a completed package for completeness and accuracy, developing and maintaining a graphics library, and participating in solutions for job-related graphic problems. Troubleshoots IP, and BACNet and LON networks physically and using software protocol analysis tools Provides integration services for BACNet and LON Network System (LNS) based BACNet DDC systems into the UMCS. System integration shall be in accordance with UFGS 25 10 10, UFGS 23 09 23 and System Owner Systems Integration Methodology. This includes the integration of utilities metering devices (electric, natural gas, water, etc.) Develops and maintains an up-to-date integration log consisting of documentation drawings and submittals specified in UMCS UFGS 25 10 10 for the UMCS, documentation drawings and submittals specific in DDC UFGS 23 09 23 for DDC systems connected to the UMCS or those for which future connection is anticipated and related documentation as requested. Follows all safety standards and has the highest regard for employee and subcontractor safety


Required Qualifications:


5+ years of related field experience in the HVAC industry Demonstrated knowledge and technical, hands-on experience with commissioning, programming, and/or integration of HVAC and other Building Controls Systems (Direct Digital Controls) Must have knowledge of control theory and HVAC systems and equipment. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate technical material to a nontechnical audience Proficiency with personal computers, Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, etc) and general Windows environments. Ability to perform work independently and as a team The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Secret Top Secret/SCI security clearance required. (This involves a background/character, criminal history, employment, and credit check.)
Preferred Qualifications:


Demonstrated proficiency and experience working with LON & BACNet BACNet Certified Professional Proficiency and experience working with Metasys and/or Distech controls. Proficiency and experience working with Wonderware Military background and comfortable working with Senior Level Commanders
