ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

About the Building Systems Business Unit
Our Building Systems Business Unit provides architecture, engineering, and planning consulting services to a variety of commercial and public clients including financial, retail, restaurant, office, municipal and grocery. Project types range from multi-unit retail to schools, municipal facilities, fairgrounds, industrial sites, and urban redevelopment.
What You'll Do:
We are looking for someone who is a creative problem solver, willing and able to communicate design ideas and learn office production workflow in a collaborative, matrixed team environment.
Specific responsibilities include
Plan production for commercial facilities within multiple industries utilizing AutoCAD and Revit software.
Complete preliminary calculations to support design decisions within HVAC, ventilation, plumbing and water supply systems.
Coordinate of design elements with other in-house disciplines, including architecture, structures, site civil, and landscape design.
Candidates should have a desire to learn all aspects of MEP engineering, if not already exposed to all of the elements above.
What You'll Bring:
Education and Experience
BSCE from an ABET-accredited college of university, or equivalent experience.
Experience performing technical projects production
Knowledge and Skills
Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, energy modeling, power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and fire suppression design.
Proficiency using computer software and programs such as Civil3D, AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Practical familiarity with ICC, NEC, and NFPA building codes and LEED building standards.

**Job Description**
Olsson is seeking an Electrical Instrumentation Engineer for our Data Center Facilities Engineering Design team to help support the design development of the instrumentation and control systems associated with electrical distribution systems. The Electrical Instrumentation Engineer will provide technical leadership and expertise with respect to system modernization and maintenance, will create plans, schematics, and one-lines, and will lead and support small and large instrumentation and controls projects with a focus on reliability and technical execution.
**Primary Responsibilities**
+ Support instrumentation-related threat mitigation action plans and incident management investigations and actions
+ Ensure the smooth real-time operation of the instrumentation system by performing and analyzing technical studies and data, developing strategies and alternatives, and establishing and documenting operating procedures
+ Works within a multi-discipline team to develop efficient and reliable electrical design packages for low and medium voltage electrical infrastructure
+ Lead the Instrumentation and Control design for projects and define control scheme in alignment with industry and client standards to satisfy power system reliability requirements
+ Review data sheets, control block diagrams, and functional/ operational descriptions for all instrumentation related projects
+ Provide technical leadership and serves as a subject matter expert, delivering professional and technical guidance on programs, projects and initiatives.

**Required Qualifications**

+ Expertise in the design, application, and implementation of distribution and generation instrumentation and control systems for building level infrastructures
+ Ability to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the industry standards that governs the selection, testing and performance of instrumentation sensors and control schemes
+ Ability to demonstrate a thorough understanding of global standards such as ISA, IEC, IEEE and other related to instrumentation and control systems
+ **Experience working with DCS, SIS and PLC** s and developing, reading and understanding P&IDs and control schematics

Vertiv is seeking a highly skilled Electrical System Engineer to join our team and focus on the design, development, and validation of Static Transfer Switch (STS) and Power Distribution Unit (PDU) 3-phase power products. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of electrical systems, including industry standards, controls and monitoring systems, circuit breaker specifications, and system performance. The engineer will play a critical role in ensuring our products meet customer requirements and perform reliably in the field.
Responsibilities:
* Lead the design and development of STS and PDU 3-phase power products, ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards (UL, IEC, NEC, etc.) and customer specifications.
* Work closely with product mangers and project engineers to understand technical requirements and translate them into detailed engineering specifications.
* Specify site planning data, including power distribution layouts, cable sizing, and environmental considerations to ensure successful product integration.
* Specify circuit breakers and develop circuit breaker coordination schemes to optimize protection and reliability in power distribution systems.
* Develop control system designs and schematics by integrating Vertiv's digital and analog controls for monitoring and managing power distribution systems.
* Develop and execute test plans to validate the thermal performance, electromagnetic interference (EMI), metering and controls accuracy/performance, and withstand fault performance of the STS and PDU units.
* Ensure that all designs and implementations adhere to the latest industry standards and regulatory requirements.
* Prepare detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and schematics. Review and provide feedback for user manuals and other customer facing documentation.
* Work closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, firmware developers, and manufacturing teams, to ensure the seamless integration and deployment of products.
* Identify areas requiring process improvement or documentation. Work with management to execute improvements.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering; Master's Degree a plus
* 3+ years of experience in product development and testing.
* Ability to analyze and resolve complex problems with minimal guidance.
* Experience with 3 phase power and conversion/conditioning products preferred, but not required.
* Understanding of industry standards (UL, IEC, NEC) and their application in product design and development
* Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
* Strong communication and organizational skills with ability to summarize technical data/results quickly for non-technical audiences.
* Mostly sedentary desk work, must be able to occasionally work in a power test lab environment, including lifting objects, running cables, or stepping over/around objects
* Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
