The Controls Engineer is responsible for the analysis, review, development, maintenance, and implementation of automation and control systems used by the site.
Responsibilities & Duties:
* Support various I/O devices connected to PLC's including HMI's, remote I/O, sensors, relays, solenoids, etc., and support/assist maintenance personnel in troubleshooting electrical, PLC, pneumatic circuits, all other components associated with automated processes to meet production and safety goals.
* Respond with urgency to assigned work and breakdowns/emergency work orders assisting the maintenance team as needed.
* Ensure that the control systems comply with any regulatory requirements such as SIL/LOPA assessments.
* Maintain or create instrument and electrical drawings for control systems consisting of motor elementaries and instrument loop sheets.

Key Responsibilities

* Support project status updates, forecasting, and issues/risks to the Project Manager or Controls Team Leads proactively, while proposing developing plans to ensure successful projects.
* Support coaching and mentoring of project team members success through active oversight of Offline programming, Commissioning, Product testing, deliverables, and cross-functional support.
* Assist the mechanical and electrical design teams in the selection, testing, and integration of hardware such as robots, motion controllers, sensors, and vision systems
* Debug and commission control systems during integration at Convergix's facility and customer sites.
* Conduct comprehensive testing of machine functionality to ensure the integrity and compliance of the system with customer specifications.
* Travel to customer and supplier sites for installation, commissioning, and training purposes.
* Collaborate with the systems design department and other teams to continuously enhance controls technology integration for improved safety, functionality, and cost-efficiency.
* Ensure adherence to labor and material budgets and scheduled delivery dates.
* Work collaboratively with customers, project managers, designers, toolmakers, and electricians to provide comprehensive and functional automation systems.
* Prepare accurate documentation for each project including operator, maintenance, and training manuals for each project.
* Provide technical problem-solving support and training to customers.
Note: The nature of the role may require working over weekends or outside standard business hours. Trips to customer sites in North America several times per year, with travel expectations of up to 20% of your time, typically lasting 1-2 weeks.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential
* 5+ years of proven controls programming and commissioning experience within industrial automation
* Proven leadership experience, leading large projects and teams within industrial automation projects
* Eagerness to troubleshoot equipment, assist with assembly/build, and check wiring.
* Experience with industrial robotics, PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and vision systems.
* A strong drive for continuous learning and growth in the field of industrial automation.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating within a multi-disciplinary team and interacting with diverse customers.
* Intermediate skill level with Fanuc or ABB robots, Rockwell/AB controls and FactoryTalk View HMIs

Job Summary
Assists the Project Engineer with being the technical source of information for the project. Responds to questions about drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and change orders and have responsibility for assisting in writing change orders, RFl's, meeting minutes, and reviewing Submittals. Maintains an effective and professional working relationship with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers. This position includes three 'steps' (I, II and Senior), which provide for a progression of skill and experience. Step I is the entry level for individuals with a minimum of experience in this position. Step II is used for employees with 2 years of experience in this position, or with experience on larger and more complex projects. The 'Senior' step is used for employees with more than 4 years of experience and/or experience on significantly larger or more complex projects.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assists Project Engineer in developing and maintaining as-built drawings and other work tasks and assists with or reviews and processes submittals, change orders, RFl's, and budget forecasting. Ensures the timely and appropriate generation, collection, distribution, storage, retrieval and ultimate disposition of meeting agendas, RFl's and daily reports.
2. Demonstrates an understanding of the project management plan (PMP) and is involved in support and execution of the plan. Demonstrates a thorough understanding of the change management process and performs project scope activities and supports the project team to ensure the work needed to complete the project successfully.
3. Ensures the administration of the project quality management plan and demonstrates and reinforces a culture of safety throughout the project.
4. May assist in the calculation of daily production rates and unit costs for self-performed work. Participates in risk management including identification, analysis, response planning and monitoring and control on a project and demonstrates competency in understanding the environmental control processes for the project and takes corrective actions when necessary.
5. May be responsible for overseeing/managing the BIM (Building Information Modeling) Coordination between Subcontractors and Designers.
6. May be responsible for the documentation and submittal for the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certification of a building and for creating and updating Digital Record Drawings (ORD).
7. May provide lines, grades and layout as required for the project while maintaining an organized log book.
8. May provide the following weekly quantities: maintains accurate quantity logs and reports quantities in compliance with the cost control manual. Education, Experience and Skills
Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related discipline or equivalent combined with a minimum of 6 to 8 years of electrical engineering design experience to include electronic circuit technology assembly processes (analog, digital and/or high voltage design) high speed logic design and PCI bus experience.
Knowledge of EMI filters and DC to DC power supply design is desired.
Experience with Altium Designer, schematic capture and PCB layout or similar CAD Software
Must be able to use a logic analyzer, oscilloscope and digital multi-meter. Spectrum analyzer experience a plus. Strong circuit debugging to the component level required.
Ability to write proposals, cost and schedule estimates (including budgets), and participate in presentations.
Must show high initiative, be self-motivated, and have ability to act independently on technical matters.
Knowledge of ISO 9001 or AS9100D quality standards preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook) and ERP systems (JobScope preferred).
Previous or active DoD security clearance preferred. U.S. Citizenship is required.

We're looking for Protection & Control Field Testing Engineers at all experience levels to perform hands-on testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and documentation of critical P&C systems. What You'll Do:
Test and commission P&C systems on high-voltage substations (15 kV - 500 kV)
Perform protective relay testing (SEL, GE, Basler, Beckwith) with Omicron or Doble test sets
Execute CT/PT verification, relay calibration, control scheme testing, and dynamic/static testing
Interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and logic diagrams; produce detailed field reports
Support Project Leads/Field Supervisors and manage clerical/project documentation
What You Bring:
