Key Responsibilities:

Document all control system designs, modifications, and troubleshooting procedures for compliance and future reference.
Prepare and maintain system specifications, manuals, and technical reports.
Project Support:
Assist with project planning, scheduling, and cost estimation for automation-related projects.
Lead or support the commissioning and testing of new control systems in a real-world production environment.
Requirements:
Experience:
3+ years of experience in PLC programming and HMI development in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Extensive experience with Rockwell RSLogix (Allen-Bradley) and Siemens TIA Portal.
Experience with various types of industrial automation, including motor control, sensors, actuators, and networking protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, etc.).
Experience with SCADA and HMI software (e.g., FactoryTalk, WinCC, Wonderware) is preferred.
Technical Skills:

Provides leadership in automation and process control to ensure 24/7 plant operations are properly configured and supported.
Offers PLC/DCS and start-up support to facilities to meet business needs and production schedules.
Develops adequate basic data for CapEx projects and offers resourcing support in commissioning, decommissioning, start-up, and shut down of projects.
Leads and manages complex control system related issues troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
Applies knowledge and industry standards to support the successful operation of process control applications and solutions including project support, hardware design, drawings, software design, PSSR, commissioning, and start-up.
Develops, reviews, maintains, and updates related documentation, files, procedures, databases, schematics, and drawings to ensure unit instrument and process control technology integrity.
Leads the site's alarm management program, sets up rationalization, and schedules periodic meetings with areas for continuous improvement.
Participate in monthly meetings and quarterly audits on electrical safety.
Collaborates closely with cross-functional site teams, including operations, maintenance/utility, IT, capital engineering, and technical manufacturing resources to understand business, production units, and priorities.
Identifies minor capital improvement automation projects, develops their scope, and leads these projects' execution.
Networks and leverages the broader organization as needed.
May offer occasional on-call support as required.
Qualifications:
B.S. degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or related field with 3+ years of experience in developing and commissioning process control applications.
Demonstrated expertise in DCS/PLC architecture, configuration, and troubleshooting, including Rockwell, Aveva, Wonderware platforms.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Instrumentation & Process Control engineering concepts and design including circuits, control systems, as well as a general knowledge of mechanical equipment and systems.
Preferred qualifications:
Fundamental understanding of Process Safety Management (PSM) systems and High Hazard Processes.
Demonstrated knowledge on manufacturing automation integration.
Demonstrated success in managing and leading both long-term programs/projects as well as addressing short-term operational issues.
Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize and manage multiple, complex, time-sensitive projects.

Job Description
The Automation/Robotics Engineer will work with the Manufacturing, Maintenance, and Engineering teams in the development and implementation of automation in mechanical assembly, fixturing and inspection processes. This will include design, specification, directing and managing vendors, installation and qualification of automated systems and equipment.
Role and Responsibilities:
Update, modify, and continuously improve existing controls systems including robotic programs, ladder logic programs, relay logic, electrical distribution, motor controls, operator interface, hydraulics, and pneumatics distribution and control.
Coordinate between engineering and maintenance on existing machine control modifications to robotic, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and vision systems.
Integrate robotics with peripherals, such as controllers or other equipment.
Conduct research on robotic technology to create new robotic systems or system capabilities.
Investigate mechanical failures or unexpected maintenance problems.
Schedule and complete back-ups of all electronic machine control and robotic programs.
Build, configure, and test robots.

Skills and Abilities
Must have thorough understanding of design, manufacturing, and automated systems.
Experience with Fanuc robots and numerical control systems and Allen Bradley PLCs.
Knowledge of CAD software, including AutoCAD 2D and Inventor.
Strong attention to detail, analytical and critical thinking skills, and the ability to think outside of the box to solve problems.
Ability to work well individually as well as part of a team.
Microsoft Office experience (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Exceptionally strong verbal and written communication skills.
Required to spend time in both office and manufacturing plant settings. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Bachelors in Robotics, MFG Engineering or related field desired, Advanced degree preferred.
Comparable Industry experience working in a plant setting as a process engineer, controls engineer, or automation engineer or electrical technician and associate degree may qualify in lieu of 4-year Engineering degree.
