Possess a Bachelor's in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or other degree relevant to the duties as described above
Have at least 3 years of experience writing assembly language, C, or C++ code that runs directly on embedded systems or integrates with real-time operating systems (RTOSes)
Have experience with protocol reverse engineering and complex communication systems
Have extensive experience with digital signal processing algorithms and are capable of (and excited by!) hypothesizing, prototyping, and extracting data from waveforms
Are an outstanding communicator in both written and verbal forms
Are able to acquire a Secret level security clearance by your start date and can ultimately acquire a TS/SCI level clearance. R&P is looking for a junior Amphibious Ship Design Electrical and Machinery Contol Systems Engineer who wants to join our team. We are a small-sized defense contractor providing Engineering, Logistics, Program Management and Technical Services to government clients. We need an engineer with a minimum of 1-year experience who is ready to join a fast-paced and exciting work environment supporting the system safety engineering aspects in support of the U.S. Navy's Amphibious Warship design team.
Responsibilities
* Provides technical support to the LPD Machinery SEM Lead on electrical distribution and control systems including but not limited to: power generation, electrical distribution and machinery control.
* Provide general engineering/technical support for concept studies, feasibility studies, independent design reviews, In-service ship design and engineering activities, and shipboard installation support.
* Assist in development, review, and update of technical sections of the Requests for Proposal (RFP) the Navy is generating for solicitation to shipyards.
* Assist the programmatic and technical authority to implement DoD, SECNAV, OPNAV, and NAVSEA environmental and system safety requirements and policies.
* Review Contractor delivered electrical and machinery controls products/CDRLs and provide feedback on adequacy, gaps, and issues.
* Provide comprehensive, detailed, and timely communications and reports to all stakeholders.
* Research, develop, coordinate, draft, and review technical documentation for new ship procurements as required.
* Review, maintain, and make recommendations with regard to engineering plans, program records, technical manuals, design histories, design configurations, databases, regulatory body, and other documents.
* Assess shipboard requirements and provide recommended engineering design and integration solutions, evaluate and provide inputs to shipbuilding contract documentation, and conduct engineering reviews of Shipbuilder products to ensure accuracy and compliance with the shipbuilding contract design.
* Evaluate Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) for compliance with technical scope and assess engineering projections with cost and labor estimates.
* Plan, coordinate and participate in Program, Ship Design, and Shipbuilder meetings and briefings.
* Provide technical coordination between the Ship Program Manager, SEA 05, ISEAs, SSGC, Shipbuilder and their various OEMs, and other shipbuilding personnel.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in engineering, electrical or marine.
* Minimum of 1-year professional experience in electrical, or marine engineering or relevant equivalent experience.
* Experience with applicable codes and standards such as ABS NVR, OSHA, and NFPA, is preferred.
* Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.

In this role as Senior Electrical Engineer, it will be focused on facility assessments for the New York State Office of General Services (OGS) facility assessment program. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience evaluating facilities and preparing reports to support strategic decision-making and resource allocations. Additional responsibilities will include:
Conduct comprehensive assessments of facilities for NYS OGS portfolio of buildings, adhering to established protocols and standards
Collaborate with project stakeholders to define assessment criteria and objectives aligned with mission of LiRo-Hill and NYS OGS
Utilize industry leading methodologies and tools to gather, analyze, and present assessment data effectively
Develop detailed Improvement Plans that effectively prioritize facility upgrades and renovations based on assessment data and program priorities
Engage with interdisciplinary teams to integrate assessment results into conceptual design for cost estimation and scheduling team members
Provide technical expertise and guidance to support the program
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering
Licensed PE with significant experience in facility assessment
10-15 years of industry experience
Proven track record of managing assessments for public agencies or governmental organizations
Familiarity with NYS OGS procedures a significant plus
Strong knowledge of building systems and construction methodologies, with experience evaluating diverse facility types
Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical information clearly to diverse audiences
A detailed-oriented mindset committed to accuracy and precision in assessment methodologies and reporting
Knowledge of Uniformat Group II classifications system a plus
