Job Summary:
This entry level Electrical Engineer is a great opportunity to apply your technical skills while coordinating numerous capital projects across the Plate department. This role is driven by self-directed work and collaborative efforts with a team of Electrical Engineers, Technical staff, maintenance, and production across the department.
The Electrical Engineer reports to the Lead Electrical Engineer in the department and will work Monday through Friday during daytime hours. You will support off-shifts as needed for your respective projects.
In this role, you will:
Coordinate all phases of assigned area electrical engineering projects from concept, scope development, written specifications, bid solicitations, design, manufacturing, equipment commissioning, and project closure.
Lead and participate in problem solving efforts with multi-discipline technical staff, maintenance and production.
Use PI Vision and Data Link to analyze process issues and provide input to solve process problems.
Create and develop electrical control solutions that will support process improvements and improve equipment reliability.
Assist production and maintenance with equipment and process issues.
PLC/HMI and controls redesign and upgrades of existing processes.
Install and troubleshoot camera systems on industrial equipment.
Incorporate SMART Manufacturing principles and tools into automated inspection systems to improve processes, data collection/analysis, and drive quick results in recovery improvements.
Qualifications
You have:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
1-3 years of Electrical Engineering experience (including Internship)

This role exists to provide controls engineering support to assigned product lines. The key customers are the engineers, Process Centered Owners, manufacturing, purchasing and vendors, Technical Service Team, Field Service, and our end customers. We are looking for our next Electrical & Controls Technician within our Maintenance Team.
The Electrical & Controls Technician will be responsible for the maintenance and improvement of electrical systems within Roquette.
This position is located in Keokuk, IA
Compensation:
The current hourly rate for this role is estimated to be $39.34. In addition, this position may also be eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation. The specific compensation offered to a candidate will be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
What You'll Do:
Support and adhere to all safety requirements
Responsible for maintenance and improvement of electrical system within Roquette
Knows and understands DCS (Distributed control system), and PLC
Technicians are expected to understand and work safely with up to 480 volt equipment on controls portion
Technicians are expected to understand and work safely with up to 14,000 volt equipment on the electrical portion
Only technicians that are “high voltage qualified” will work with high voltage (over 600 volts) equipment
Position requires to have a working knowledge and understanding of motor starters,
VFD's (variable frequency drivers), control valves, KV valves, BMS (burner management systems), meters, switches, transmitters, and other control related devices
Perform in-depth testing and validation of these control devices utilizing a volt-ohmmeter, megger, amp meter, 475 filed communicator, and other test and configuration equipment
Assist in minimizing inventory cost through standardization and reducing unnecessary stock
Assist with the selection of most reliable hardware and wiring methods
Performs other duties assigned. Essential Functions and additional responsibilities
Wear designated PPE
Technician will assist in development of hardware systems designed to resolve process problems as well as support capital expansions
Position will work with Engineers in resolving plant electrical and controls maintenance issues as necessary.
Responsibilities include communication with production, quality, mechanical maintenance, and engineers in the area.
Responsible to understand plant-wide process control needs, and to assist in development as well as implementation of objectives of the E/C Maintenance group
This position is classified as a “worker” role and as such does not include direct supervision
Direct hands-on maintenance repairs and installation of equipment as required
Works with an integral process improvement, skills growth and automation of our company
Responsible to assist in job layout and maintenance of wiring and process related standards during installation
Position is not responsible for the supervision of contractors or workers, but will coordinate activities with them.
Responsible to assure that proper documentation has been done on all projects in an area and is responsible to maintain a working set of shop drawings for maintenance use.
Learn the process in areas where work is assigned
Stay current with plant technology as well as industry-wide technologies related to E/C maintenance
Define personal training needs and work with supervision to address those needs
Keep abreast of emerging electrical and process control technology, evaluate it and make recommendations for implication
Solves process problems with input from work groups (process, quality control, environmental, mechanical maintenance, etc.) develop and implement permanent solutions to these problems
Develop and implement skill level improvements for themselves and other person in their group
Assist in development of standardized work methods, standardized hardware, and standardized system design (plant wide)
Completion of all projects and activities for which responsibility is assumed or assigned. Do this on time and under budget.
Recommend and preform preventative and predicative maintenance on E/C hardware installed as we all recommending improvements on existing equipment
Personal involvement with spare parts inventories for newly installed and existing systems with emphasis on minimum inventory and maximum benefit from that inventory

This is a full-time position, working rotating 12-hour shifts.

Purpose:
This role exists to provide controls engineering support to assigned product lines. The key customers are the engineers, Process Centered Owners, manufacturing, purchasing and vendors, Technical Service Team, Field Service, and our end customers. The deliverables from this role are electrical engineering design, programming for logic controllers and visualization interface, and technical support.
Key Accountabilities:
For assigned product lines, maintain a fully documented and accurate electrical design and control program that complies with established Evergreen and industry standards.
Maintain a cost balance for the electrical design that achieves the lowest base cost with the highest manufacturing efficiency and lowest warranty. This balance should also account for the highest operational efficiency and lowest maintenance requirement.
Produce electrical design/program changes to support sale orders, product improvements, and change requests/non-conformances for assigned product lines.
Provide timely, complete, and consistent technical support to internal and external business customers as required in support of assigned product lines.
Support the Controls Team to increase output, standardization, and repeatability of designs and programs through developing and continuously improving engineering tools and work processes.
Maintain at minimum a 30-day backlog of all assigned non-conformances.
Develop controls standards.

This individual should be able to provide a reasonable amount of support and training to lower level staff on most subjects, and be able to coordinate a portion of their work through others. This individual should also be capable of identifying and producing moderate level standards, engineering tools, and process improvement initiatives with some direction from the Controls Manager.
