Seeking a technically strong and collaborative Controls Engineer to support the development, construction, and commissioning of conventional generation projects. Reporting to the Manager - Conventional Generation Engineering, the candidate has technical responsibility to support the development of conventional generation projects. The engineer will work closely with Project Managers, Owner's Engineer (OE), EPC Contractors, Major Equipment Supplier, and internal Transmission & Substation (T&S) teams to ensure safe, timely, cost-effective, and environmentally sound project delivery. Key Responsibilities:• Provide technical oversight to enforce contract requirements on EPC Contractors and Major Equipment Suppliers. • Coordinate with OE, EPC, Power Island Suppliers, and internal teams to ensure project success. • Promote safety and contribute to a positive team culture. • Support multi-disciplinary, multi-year capital projects with high complexity and value. • Evaluate control system architecture, logic diagrams, instrument lists, and I/O schedules. • Review and develop specifications for major I&C equipment including DCS, PLCs, sensors, transmitters, analyzers, and control valves. • Ensure proper integration of GT, ST, HRSG, and balance-of-plant (BOP) control systems. • Participate in vendor evaluations and ensure technical compliance for control systems. • Witness FATs for DCS, PLC panels, and critical instrumentation. • Monitor delivery schedules and inspect installation of instruments, control panels, and wiring. • Onsite lead for all controls engineering RFIs and oversight. Education and Experience Requirements:This position requires a minimum Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited school with at least 4 years of engineering experience in the design, construction and/or maintenance of power plant control systems. The applicant mustbe willing to work nights and weekends as needed. Chemical and Industrial Engineers will also be considered.
