WHAT YOU GET TO DO
Office:
Independently prepare projects
Create, maintain, and improve commissioning documentation
Prepare and execute factory tests
Provide support to the customers and other commissioners
On-site:
Test and verify functionality of electrical control cabinets
Monitor compliance with safety guidelines and regulations
Verify and accept pre-assembled subsystems
Manage daily work processes
Install, configure, and commission various subsystems on-site
Provide electrical support and installation as needed on-site
Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues
Train Customer and maintenance teams
Correct electrical schematics of the installation based on the final installation on-site
Support development of new products, when applicable
Support hotline on-site
Provide remote hotline support to existing customers
Ensure that safety requirements are followed properly at the jobsite
Coordinate daily job duties at the jobsite with all involved parties, the Customer and internal departments
Recognize feedback given/received and potential for improvement

The role requires regular onsite presence to ensure necessary diagnoses, troubleshooting, and operational startup of our client's production lines, equipment, and facilities. Our Automation & Controls Engineers are frequently facing engineering challenges in applying standard engineering techniques to design, develop, and maintain instrumentation or control systems. Both software and hardware design and troubleshooting skills and abilities are required for this role. Typical responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Responsibilities
Handle basic issues and problems and refer more complex issues to higher-level engineer
Design and troubleshoot both software and hardware necessary for control systems utilizing PLCs for integration of manufacturing systems.

Required Education Skills and Experience

What you do
Under general direction, responsible for the design, configuration, and operation of complete building control systems including other low voltage control sub-systems (i.e., lighting, nurse call, data networks, etc.) to meet the intent of the project requirements.
Accountable to field teams for quality, timeliness and efficiency of designs. Develops complex software programs, commissioning and troubleshooting to ensure proper operations of the building control system.
Provide detailed information and submittals to communicate design and operation to customers, consultants, Johnson Controls field installation team and subcontractors.

Designs and configures are technically HVAC complex building control systems as defined by the contract documents.
Develop and tests software programs necessary to operate the system per the project requirements' intent.
Keeps management and JCI contractor or customer informed of job progress and issues.
Assists in performing site-specific training for owner / operator on the total building control system.
May provide work directions to Systems Design Assistants.
Adheres to safety standards.
High degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety
Creates flow diagrams, sequence of operations, bill of material, network layouts and electrical schematics as required.
Coordinates and creates necessary drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installation.
Selects, orders, and tracks the delivery of materials for assigned projects.
Coordinates factory-mounting processes to meet factory and project schedule.
Assists in the loading and commissioning of all system and network-level controllers as required.
Assists in validation of complete system functionality and troubleshoots problems with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper operation.
Provides field change information to the project team for the creation of as-built drawings and software.
Participates in the release meeting with project field team.
Performs value engineering to provide cost effective results while maintaining customer satisfaction.
What we look for
Required
Johnson Controls Experience - 2 years plus Metasys experience.
Bachelor's degree in engineering and a minimum of 3 years' experience
Demonstrated knowledge of the construction or HVAC industry.
Demonstrated knowledge of control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems and other building subsystems.
Demonstrated experience in the integration of low voltage building sub-systems using various industry protocols (i.e., LON, BACnet, etc.).
Ability to relate technical knowledge to a non-technical audience.
Demonstrated advanced computer skills required, particularly computer-related drafting tools.
Strong mechanical and controls knowledge specifically in research / lab environments.

Hiring Compensation Range: $68,000.00 - 85,000.00 USD Annual.
